i was "done" with star trek. i had turned my back on the whole thing. i didnt ever think that i would watch another star trek series or movie from this point on.

then i started watching lost. and then these trailers came out.

i dont care if abrams was never a star trek fan or knows anything or even nothing about star trek. i think that paramount would be watchful of what he was doing to thier biggest franchise, not that they would need to interfere. one of hte important things is star trek is the cerebral element, the make you think stuff. lost is way beyond cerebral, way beyond the level of any star trek series. i dont know why anyone here would complain that all jj wants to do is blow everything up. have you seen lost?

i think that from what i saw in the trailers there will be enough brain food and action to fill your minds to overload.

I liked his series Earth: Final Conflict- it had potential, but got off track on the last season(I thought). I met him personally when I took a cruise(SeaTrek) in 2003, also in attendance were George Takei(Sulu),and a few other scifi tv stars.

I'm glad they re-booted Star Trek with a whole new cast. I hope it doesn't suck I really want this movie to do the franchise justice.  Crossing my fingers.........

JJ has nothing to do with Lost, outside of coming up with the concept and shooting the pilot he's been out of the show for pretty much everything else.  Maybe an episode here or there in the first 2 seasons.

Lost is Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof's baby now.  Lindelof did work on this new Star Trek movie though.
