I've said it before and I'll say it again: This movie will be shit.

Lionsgate has given Mania readers an exclusive first look at the new TV ad for 'The Spirit'!
Adapted from Will Eisner’s comic book series, 'The Spirit' is a classic action-adventure-romance genre-twister written for the screen and directed by Frank Miller. It is the story of a former rookie cop who returns mysteriously from the dead as The Spirit (Gabriel Macht) to fight crime from the shadows of Central City. His arch-enemy, the Octopus (Samuel L. Jackson) has a different mission: he’s going to wipe out Spirit's beloved city as he pursues his own version of immortality. 'The Spirit' tracks this cold-hearted killer from Central City’s rundown warehouses, to the damp catacombs, to the windswept waterfront ... all the while facing a bevy of beautiful women who either want to seduce, love or kill our masked crusader.
Surrounding him at every turn are Ellen Dolan (Sarah Paulson), the whip-smart girl-next-door; Silken Floss (Scarlett Johansson), a punk secretary and frigid vixen; Plaster of Paris (Paz Vega), a murderous French nightclub dancer; Lorelei (Jaime King), a phantom siren; and Morgenstern (Stana Katic), a sexy young cop. Then of course, there’s Sand Saref (Eva Mendes), the jewel thief with dangerous curves. She’s the love of his life turned bad. Will he save her or will she kill him?
'The Spirit' opens in theaters December 25th.

LOL---mo and hanso.
I was being positive for Frank's sake but in the end I couldn't decide if I wanted to see it because Miller is the shit or for some other reason because you guys are right, it looks like shit.
This trailer now makes me think that it will in fact be shit because every time they have a TV commerical with "THE GREATEST MOVIE OF THE YEAR" reviews, it turns out to be shit. The final nail in the coffin will be the clips of people walking out of the movie theater getting a camera in their face asking them how the movie was and the FAN telling us how its the bestest movie they've ever seen....
Seriously I hope I'm wrong and it turns out to be a good movie.
I thought some of the trailer looked great and some of it looked, um, pretty bad (dialogue anyone?) But The Spirit is such a true comic icon and Frank Miller is such a true comic icon that I will hold back any judgement until after viewing :)
This movie is going to suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccckkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk!!!
Here, read this (http://www.aintitcool.com/node/39450) and decide for yourself.
My gosh, this movie looks terrible... from each of the trailers, to the six different clips that were posted, it simply looks awful!
From what I've seen, it looks like Frank Miller should definitely stick to the formula of writing good comics/stories and letting actual movie directors bring them to film for him.
