I don't love this show, but my wife does. This would be a great gift.

you know, I've been chasing phantoms and related happenings since 2000, I've read and watched just about anything (reliable) I could get my hands on, I even have them opening my bedroom door at night just so they can say "hi" every so often
I've read van Praagh, John Edward, Sylvia Browne, and others....I've followed TAPS and the more, unfortunately, dramatic shows (Most Haunted) and still I never dedicated an evening to watching this
is it any good?
One of the few genre shows my wife and I watch together. It is consistently well written and has a great cast. I kind of miss Jay Mohr but Jamie Kennedy has turned out to be a welcome addition. I am actually looking forward to seeing how the current Jim / Sam storyline plays out. All around solid show.
This would be so great - Lord knows, with those darn ghosts, I've tried chatting, I've tried shouting, I've tried meaningful one-on-one two-way dialogue, and I just can't get a word out of them. Maybe what I really need is some training in how to whisper to them. Heck, it's worth a shot! (Plus Christmas is coming, and if I can't lean anything from the book/DVD, I can always wrap 'em up for one of my ex-wives. Would that be considered re-gifting?)
Ghost Whisperer is one of my favorite shows. The cast and story lines, the ghosts, and the sets and costuming are all first rate. First, the cast and storylines are amazing. The writers have made sure that ghosts aren't the only conflict in Grandview. The squabbles and hurt feelings between the main characters are a really important part of the show. They also added some outright comedy when they included Jay Mohr (and now Jamie Kennedy). Thankfully, the cast is up to all the little nuances so those little moments can make us just as uncomfortable as the ghosts themselves. This is a great technique and really adds to the overall atmosphere. Second, the ghosts are really well done. I love that the ghosts can be scary, grotesque, humorous or sad. I love that the writers consistently try to make us jump out of our seats and that the ghosts interact with the environment in a way that's physically threatening by starting fires, throwing objects or even giving someone a push down the stairs. You're never quite sure what's going to happen. It's good scary stuff and there's not always a happy ending. Finally, the show itself is eye-candy. I'm not sure who designs the sets and chooses the costumes, but the feel of the show suits the premise. Grandview is a timeless town and costuming Jennifer Love Hewitt in antique clothing adds to the feeling that we're not always dealing with things in the here and now. This show is just consistently well made and fun to watch.
Honestly. I like it because I have always had a thing or J. Love. My wife loves it so it is a good compromise. It also helps that it has a good supporting cast and decent story lines.
I love it because I enjoy supernatual fiction :D Thanks for the cool contest :)
Seven simple words; Jennifer Love Hewitt and her huge honkers.
'Nuff said.
