 Dante is one class act.  He has made some of the horror genre's greatest films.  Something about that dark little twisted sense of humor that really makes his films stand out.

When I first heard of this, it reminded me of The Gate film from the 80's.

 I think it is a homage to that film (which I remember quite enjoying as a kid.).  Actually, so was Don't Be Afraid of the Dark.  But, I think that was unintentional (and, a major dissapintment.)  Anyway, I heard this has a very 80's vibe to it and with Dante at the helm, I'm actually pretty excited.

I think I'll check this out. I haven't seen all his work, but I enjoyed Gremlins and Small Soldiers to name a few. The scene from Small Soldiers when the toys are getting messed up by the buzz saw (?), always felt like that belonged in a horror flick. Cool stuff.

I love all of Dante's work, even in his not so good movies he always gets some sly commentary in the films.
