Janeway is the 2nd best captain in all the star trek shows or movies, only behind Picard! I Love her on NTSF: SD: SUV is a funny ass show!

Janeway is the dumbest captian in the history of the show due to bad writing.

She said the borg are this way let travel right through their space and travel directly towards them...  and it's 70 lightyears away but we really need to travel further to avoid the galatic core for half that trip. Yet going the other way which has the Bajoran Wormhole, and no known hostile aliens that we stand no chance against as a single ship wasn't even discussed.

The entire premise of the show required constant Dues Ex plot mecahnics.

I know almost know one agrees, but the writers had to do idiotic plots to get them through the borg. they had to make the borg weak idiotic jokes from the scary cyber zombie army they were in TNG and First Contact, in order to get the crew through, and worse Janeway kept picking fights in her tiny patrol vessal....

That would be like a Frigate attacking a Carrier group, and expecting to destroying all of it and come out un harmed.

She's definitely a good actress, but 2nd best captain... behind Picard.  Sisko beats her & how Kirk isn't either first or second best in anyone's book is beyond me.  I can see the argument that she might be better than Archer only because his captain seems the most cookie cutter out of the bunch.

Sisko easily blows Janeway out of the water. A lot of that has to do with plot and writing, but in my view Sisko played the part of strong male much better than Janeway did strong female.

And, like Kaziklu, from the show's inception I wondered why they didn't head toward the wormhole, which was certainly known at the time and a much shorter distance, all things considered. They also had no idea oabout the Dominion's agression at the time, either, and wouldn't have had any way of knowing until they were well on their way. In fact, the more I think about it the more I realize that this would have been a fun and interesting cross over with the Dominion War story line. Voyager's survival through Dominion territory wouldn't have been any harder to believe than survival through Borg territory.

Oh well. Janeway was surrounded by an inferior cast as compared to Sisko, as well, so the comparison is unfair on multiple levels. The result is the same though: just not as high on the list as Sisko.

Janeway the best Captain!!! Kate Mulgrew is a good actress but the people responsible for writing Janeway's character should never pick up a pen or touch a keyboard again.

 The character of Janeway was all over the place emotionally and mentally. Janeway and Captain Archer from seasons 1 and 2 are in a race for last place in Trek Captains behind Captain Harraman from ST: Generations. 

Ok maybe i should have said voyager was the best show behind Next Gen...In my own humble opinion. I had no problem with the cast of voyager. But its no wonder everyone else on here does. Because you would think everyone on here was acting teachers or something..lol If anyone did suck acting wise on Voyager it was Harry Kim.

Janeway/Mulgrew was my Jumping the Shark for Trek. Voyager killed it for me. That show had the worst characters. Seriously. All of them sucked. The vulcan dude. Talk about overacting. The cook and his Keebler Elf looking girlfriend were downright annoying.

Janeway = worst captain. Her voice just irritated me. I had to turn down the volume. Felt like a dog whistle on a dog.

 Janeway and Voyager couldn't use the Bajoran wormhole because it led to the Gamma quadrant.  Voyager was stuck in the Delta quadrant of space, all which resides in the Milkyway galaxy.  

No disrespect to Janeway, Picard, Sisko, Archer, Sulu, April, Pike, etc., but the greatest captain character in the history of Star Trek still has to be James Tiberius Kirk.  You all know it to be true.  Carry on.

The Delta and Gamma quarants touch, and Voyager first appeared in the Delta quadrant not far from its border with Gamma. The Bajoran wormhole came out almost in the centre of the Gamma quadrant outer arm. Distance wise, it would have been half the distance to travel to the wormhole rather than all the way to Earth, so yes, the wormhole should have been the first option.
