She was hot in Throw Momma From The Train.

The only question then would be where exactly in the Delta quadrant did the Voyager first appear.  Were they closer to the Alpha quadrant or the Gamma quadrant?

Darkknight2280 8/11/2011 11:20:08 AM

Oh well i still think Voyager was good! :)

middlerealm 8/11/2011 11:39:46 AM

Like I said, not far from the Gamma Quadrant (about the same distance as Earth is from Bajor). The closest point to the Alpha Quadrant was about the same distance as it was to the Gamma Quadrant wormhole. You still had the same again just to get to Earth.

@ flyincloud, in order for voyager to be 70k from earth there are a number of places it could have ended up.
But for it to be on the other side of Borg Space it had to be close to the Gamma Quadrant. Most images, and speculation, and companion info I've read and seen in the last 15 years has placed them between 50-80k from the Gamma Quadrant Wormhole I genearlly figure about the same as traveling to earth.

It's 10,000 more LY at most, and more then that avoid the race of Cybernetic Zombies that are bent on assimilating any civilization they deem worth or any technology they deem worthy, and Voyager was an advance Federation design with Biological... and possibily assimilatable parts.

A single drone beams on board and injects nanobots into voyagers systems and it's game over. It took a fleet of ships at Wolf 359 to defeat it and even with everything they new, in First Contact a single Cube could still defeat most of the Federation and make it to Earth. A single ship would be suicide.

So the correct and logical course of action would be to travel towards the Gamma Quadrant and come through the Bajoran Wormhole. As no Hostile races were known that way, and it's a logical tie in to DS9... which is what I thought was happening... Instead they turned the Borg into weak little babies compared to what they were.

Kaziklu 8/11/2011 3:06:22 PM

@middlerealm the Bajoran Wormhole is not much more then a few hundred LY from earth (I think it was mentioned as being about 50 or so. And if you assume 1 year for 1000 light years that makes sense as it take a week or two to get to earth by most accounts from DS9 at an average speed of warp 6, which would result in traveling 2 Light years every day.  (iirc I could geek out and put out the warp to light year calculations if any one really wants me to be sure, it's been a long while since I worried about this stuff, it's not that important writers have the powers of Q)

I always loved that Janeway rejected the title "sir" and preferred "Captain," although "Ma'am will do in a pinch."
