As an animator myself, it's pretty hard to rank these.  My fav is Incredibles though and I too think Monster's Inc. should be closer to the top.  And while I enjoyed Wall E, especially how it evoked a silent film, I still felt like it was missing something.  It would be somewhere in the middle for me.  Then again I've only seen it once so maybe I should throw in the blu ray and give it another go.

Finding Nemo needs to be much much higher on the list! Cars is in the right spot, thats my least fav.

Toy Story 2 is one of those rarities.  The sequel that surpasses the orignial in every way, shape, and form.  The original was good but not great.  The sequel was outstanding.  I agree that Ratatouille is my least favorite Pixar movie.  I don't how he cute looks onscreen, he is still a rat.  If I knew rats would be in the kitchen, I would leave that restaurant immediately.  Monsters Inc. was also good, not great.  It is notable for me as the first movie I went to see after 9/11.  Its pure escapism in troubled times was good therapy for many people after such a tragic event.  I would prboably put Incredibles #1, Wall-E #2, Up #3, Toy Story 2 #4, Finding Nemo #6.  After that would be Cars, A Bug's Life, Toy Story, Monters Inc., and finally Ratatouille.

Isn't it kind of cheating to do a "10 Best" when they have only made 10 Feature Films ( of course, Toy Story 3 doesn't really count since it just came out or it would be 11)?

Now you aren't "picking the best", you are just putting them in the order you like the best.

Having re-watched both T.S. movies this weekend in preperation for the T.S. 3 opening, I have to say that T.S. 2 is probably my favorite.
Rat-patootie and Monster's Inc. and Toy Sotry in a three-way tie for 2nd.
Then Incredibles, Wall-E, Up, Bug's Life, Cars and Finding Nemo, in that order.

Hard to compare Pixar to Dreamworks, when you consider the number of flops DW has had, and compare that to every Pixar film being a work of art.

And #1 Pixar short is Geri's Game.
Period.

The Pixar shorts. now there's a list. Man, the alien abduction one, the snow globe, the rabbit in a hat all cracked me up.

I agree with CHERVIL about it being a 10 best list...  I went to Wikipedia to see what movies were left off.  At any rate, The Incredibles would top my list followed by Up and Finding Nemo.  I watched that movie so many times that my wife shivers when she hears (or suspects) the music from the soundtrack is playing.

This is a list worth commenting on. Too bad I didn't make the first 10 spots though, no one will probably read this. but still..

I think its great how the only bad thing people can say about any of these movies is "i haven't see it yet", and people are putting each one above the Shrek movies. I never realized how good these movies really are until they were all lined up here. But I should have known, these are the only movies my kids can watch 3 times in one day and actually sit thru them, thats saying alot being that they are 3 and 2. Can't wait to take them to see Toy Story 3 this week and how much money TS3 brings in this weekend.

Ratatouille is #1 for me.  LOVE that movie, but it and Wall-e are near the bottom for my kids.

Incredibles is the most watched in our house, followed by Monsters Inc., Finding Nemo and Cars (my 3 y/o son loves it) in that order.

Never liked Bug's Life.

dawntreader 6/18/2010 11:11:51 PM

10. Ratatouille (if there was another Pixar movie i could put here i would.)
9. Up! (and i havent seen it yet)
8. Cars
7. A Bug's Life
6. Monster's Inc.
5. Wall*E
4. The Incredibles
3. Toy Story
2. Finding Nemo
1. Toy Story 2

depending on how good TS3 is it might take the top spot or at least somewhere above 11 and shove the crap known as Ratatouille off the list.

I think this list is good except I think UP was better than the Incredibles. Cars just sucked asss imo. I still love Wall-E to death.
