Great filmamaker and great films which wil be enjoyed by many for years to come. His films had a visual style which can be emulated but never re-produced. It's sad to learn that he had an painful and incurable desease, but at least he had the conviction to go out on his own terms, rather then allow this horrible desease to eventually ravage him. The brain cancer story isn't true. ABC News falsely reported it, which let to a subsequent spread across the media. They have since apologized for the error.
