I have not seen that one you mentioned, Wiseguy...I'll be sure to check it out.  This dweeb has been up all night at the moment and needs sleep right about now though.  Everybody have a good day.

Tickets bought!

At first I was skeptical of the length of these movies and now a 3 part saga for such a small book and notes but the way I see it, More Hobbit!

The franchise is in good hands in PJ who is a diehard Tolkien fan. So yes, he is including some of Tolkien's notes and stuff and I'm sure adding stuff of his own but he is not doing it as a hack. I recall some scenes in his LOTR were never in the book yet were very cool additions to the movie and did not do any disservice to Tolkien's works.

With regards to the idea of the film dragging, I find that comment a bit ironic considering the film is a good half hour shorter than any of the previous Lord of the Rings films.

The previous LOTR films had over 3x the amount of material than the Hobbit.

Imagine making the first trilogy into 9 movies... you get the point.

I guess i'm gonna have to choose the preferred-leather-comfy-chaired theater for this one if im gonna sit through the draggy parts. But I'm also a big fan of all this stuff, so I really don't mind. I mean what else are we gonna do with our lives?? haha

Btw SarcasticCaveman-thx alot. Those damn, "Honest Trailers" sure do know how to ruin a good movie for you. Like especially when i saw the Avengers version, it made me go   =T

But DAYAM, they sure are hilarious!  hahaha

I'm still pissed we never got Tom Bombadil and the barrow wights in Fellowship.

Was this a review or a summary?

For some reason my post won't go. And there's no swear words in it.

I never much cared for the character of Tom Bombadil or Goldberry.  It doesn't seem to add much.  When I reread the books I usually skip that part.

But the barrow wights were cool.  Would have liked to have seen that.  But it wasn't really necessary to the story.
