 I enjoy many musicals. t comes from my mother's love of them and her taking us to many live shows as kids, thus giving me an appreciation for them. I saw the stage version of Les Miz with her and loved it. I've seen maybe 4 movie versions of the book as well. I will definitely be seeing this on the weekend.

The ONLY musical I can tolerate is Team America baby! YEAH!

This movie is making money and getting rave reviews ... so i will watch it ... one day

I'm like you monkeyfoot.  My parents took me to many stage shows as a kid.  I liked them so much I even played the lead role in 2 musicals back in high school.  And I just re-watched Sound of Music for the umpteenth time on Christmas Eve when I happened by it on tv.  Needless to say I'm a fan of musicals.  Glad I've been reading good to great reviews on several sites.  So I definitely want to see this.  Although Django will probably come first. 

I'm so friggin' behind on my holiday movies this year. But I don't give a hoot - I got a job interview today and have been busy prepping for that!!!

Hoping to catch something next week for new years. I may go see Life of Pi today since I got a free ticket.

Naw, greatest musical ever is South Park: Bigger, Longer, and Uncut.

WOW, we ended up catching this Thursday night and let me just say WOW. Haven't cried at the films this much since The Joy Luck Club, yeah I admit to having seen it at the films too.

Man this was draining but if you want to remind yourself that your human and have feelings check it out.
 

I just read Rob's review and I agree wholeheartedly.  Hathaway is magnificent and Jackman isn't far behind. Crowe may have been the lesser of the three but still damn good.

That last bit at the monastery and the one where Marius does his last solo piece after the battle to name just 2 grab you by the heart and squeeze til you give in. Oh there are more but those two specifically  got me.

Cohen and Carter were great as the comic relief, much props to both and great way to introduce some levity otherwise the emotional punch may have been too much to bear

 Wise, the girl Samantha Barks was also a great surprise. Googling her I found out this is her first movie role but she's done the character of Eponime many times on stage. She beat out Scarlet Johansson and Taylor Swift for the part.
