Monkeyfoot, of course they won't complain.  At the rate we are going, decades from now we will have reached "Idiocracy" and be ruled by President Dwayne Elizondo Mountain Dew Herbert Camacho.

Wyldstaar 2/10/2012 8:37:21 AM

Hanso, you're being terribly optimistic.  By then, the Singularity will have taken place and the Cylons will have risen up to destroy us all.  President Camacho won't be able to bring anything to us from Carl's Jr.

Looking forward to a 3D Jar Jar Binks' tongue into the power coupler . . .

U know what i realize??? Yoda failed us all!! After the last Palpatine fight he just goes and hides on Dagobah for decades as the Empire grows and gains control of the galaxy?!?! Wth Yoda!?!?! What were u doing u lazy bum!!?? "TOo lazy and old am i, to deal with that sith crap...."   Fail Yoda.... EPIC FAIL!!!  LOL

hanso 2/10/2012 10:32:17 AM

Wyld, I gotta remain optimistic for some Carl Jr so I can say " you, I'm eating!".

Violator, don't forget that Yoda quit like a little beeyotch when he fought Sidious at the end of Episode 3.  He fell a couple of stories in that final battle, got up as if nothing had happened, looked up and said "Eff this, that black robed mofo be shooting lighting outta his hands. I can't deal with that I'm getting up out here in my little flying car."  Yoda EPIC FAIL all around yo!

Ah president Camacho " shit.......these is some bad times"  If every president started thier speech like that, the rest wouldn't even matter because they'd own us!

Violator:  I don't think that brilliant point has ever been properly discussed!!  But I couldn't agree more with you!!!  Yoda was badass and Obi Wan was still alive and in his prime too!!  So he gives up and and hides on Tatooine so he can be the creepy uncle out in the desert?  Both of those fuckers failed now that I think about it!

Yeah this movie and all Star Wars films currently in existence will never willingly get my money ever again.

Make new stuff that actually looks good and I'll be there but otherwise............retire George..........just go lay down somewhere and go to sleep.

Rob...bravo...dead on review.  I am in agreement with you on ALL POINTS, the good and the bad.  TPM had some good moments, but they were so overshadowed by plot holes and crap writing.  I was thinking about taking my oldest son to this...but I'm rethinking.

And I disagree Monkeyfoot.  The only reason kids liked these movies was all the flashy flash and bling that George brought to the screen.  When they get older they'll be like...did I like this crap?  I've seen movies that I loved when I was a kid, but when I watch now I did I like this garbage.  I saw TOS as a kid and I still love them now.  I don't think the kids who watch this crap now will still like it later on.

And Luke may have been whiny sometimes...but it wasn't so whiny and badly acted that I wanted to punch him in the face.

It's true isn't it?  Both Yoda and Obi-Wan were younger.  So instead they wait until they're old and grizzly and then stake all of their hope on some untrained young whipper snapper to take down the whole empire?

To be fair there wasn't a resistance at the time though either, the Empire had everything.  They had to wait until the Alliance formed to be able to have some people on their side to put up a fight.

I'll be there tomorrow and for the following 5 episodes to enjoy in all its 3D goodness, not to mention to get my racing pod 3D goggles if they don't run out of them first

I got the impression that Obi-Wan was laying low, waiting for the time to come when the rebellion needed a hero to rally around, plus keep an eye on Luke.  This is why Princess Leia was on her way to Tatooine.  She had the plans to the Death Star, and a Jedi would be the surest way to guarantee it's destruction and show the galaxy that it was possible to fight back against the Empire and win.  The plan more or less worked, although with Kenobi's death, his apprentice Luke Skywalker had to take his place.

As for Yoda, we have to keep in mind that Yoda was not part of Lucas' original vision for The Trilogy.  When Ben said, "If you strike me down, I will become more powerful than you can possibly imagine." in Star Wars, he meant it.  Kenobi was originally supposed to return to life and be more powerful than ever.  When Lucas changed his mind, we got Yoda.  It worked out great for The Trilogy, but kinda created a mess when it comes to the ending of the prequels.  If find it best to just not think about the prequels at all.  None of their other plot points work anyway, so why should this one involving Yoda?
