I thought the rest were dead, and just the 1 was alive.. Guess I will have to go back and watch in IMAX 3D...

SarcasticCaveman 6/8/2012 5:07:52 PM

Well, they found 1 alive on that 1 ship...they never said how many other ships there may be and who knows if any others were alive on the other ships?

As for the planet not having the same designation as the other movies, I prefer the company cover-up theory...corporations are shady anyway.  Also, we know they knew what was on the planet when they sent the Nostromo and when they started the colony there...Ian Holm was supposed to bring the lifeform back as was Paul Reiser.

Its a PREQUEL Maybe the Alien isn't the bad guy in this film, it is definitely part of the Alien story line.  I came here because I went to a general movie board, and a lot of young kids were trashing it because it wasn't a monster movie or a Star Wars movie.  One big disappointment was why assemble a bunch of secondary characters, the captain, the geologist, the biologist, not to develop their characters more than a few wooden lines.  Every character in Alien is so memorable, but only Charlize and Fassbender characters are memorable here.  I'm hoping for a sequel, cuz like everyone else I want to know why they hate us???

David and Vickers were great....the Captain was pretty good too.

Well, my wife and I just got back and we liked it.  If you are an Alien fan, then you will get it and should enjoy it.  I loved the character of David.  I do agree with Wise about the music.  At the beginning I was like 'huh', it felt odd, but the scenery was nice to look at.  There are items to mention and questions to ask, but I will wait to start spewing.  We are looking forward to another one.  '

@Xero hmm more questions than answers is not a bad thing though..many of my favorite movies are like that..

But whatever.  In the end, my brain hurts from reading all sorts of theories and ideas that people have thown out there in this thread.  I saw the movie.  I made my own inferences.  I have my own ideas.  Doesn't really matter what everyone's personal opinion is.  As long as you enjoyed it and it made you think then I consider it money well-spent.  I liked it and it entertained me, so that's all that matters.

I F*cken loved every second of it and I am going back on Sunday to see it again with another movie I have yet to see, The Avengers....

Saw it last night, and this is definitely not A class material.  A class potential yes.

The problem is that the characters are stupider than teens in a slasher picture.  And that stupidity is what drives the plot the entire step of the way. This makes it difficult for me to care for them.

Also, there are too many things that fall apart when you think about them.  Like, how is Shaw going to survive the flight in the alien ship? If it is not FTL, then she has to put herself in a stais pod that is designed for someone much larger than (and stlll physiologically different from) her.  And if it goes FTL, then why does it need stasis pods on the bridge?
