Your review is consistent with what I'm reading. I'd still like to check this out even if it's a rental.

Haven't seen it, but when a movie trailer plays to the "IT'S SO SCARY YOU HAVE TO SEE IT" ad, I question it's quality. It seems they are really trying to sell it. Worth a rent to see what's up.

The Innkeepers?!?  That movie was a boring mess!

I'm confused a C for a horror film is a thumbs down?  Isn't that usually what passes as quality horror today?  I'm all for quiet horror films with more scares and less gore.  However, I hae to say Don't Be Afraid of the Dark was not quiet...it was just a poorly done film.  I expect much, much more.  I'm still up for renting The Woman in Black when it is released.  Seriously, any fan of the original Hammer films and a Hammer film that harkens back to their glory days is a must see.

BTW, when did Elizebeth Olson come bursting on the scene?  Have they already used up all the other young starlets and have to start on a new batch?

I liked this film better when it was called High Tension

Enjoyed it til about halfway when I was positive of what was going on....and I'm not that smart :(

High Tension was amazing.. Wise you just made me more intriqued to see this.. I remember seeing Tension when I was in high school. Was iffy about it because it was in subtitles but to this day it's still one of my favorites.. It opened the door wide for me with subtitles.. I'll definately being seeing this on Netflix!
