Westend & Chitty, you weren't the only ones. It wasn't that I felt overwhelmed, it was just like they did a simple little origin paint by numbers. But I'm not complaining at all that this was a bad film, by any means. It was entertaining funny and light-exactly what they aimed for

As someone mentioned earlier, it took Thor a whole of 3 days to find his mojo as Odinking and land an earth babe.

Thor was a finely crafted, well-tuned, perfectly made introductory preview to the Avengers. I feel like that's the only real reason his movie got made.

Lastly, I said this wouldn't make more than 175 US at most. Seeing as how it only had a 66 million opening, if you look at upcoming competition, it's going to go the route of the Incredible Hulk and top off at around 140-150. All in all not bad, but not Mjoliner smashing

Thor was awesome, saw it in 3D wasnt worth it in 3D! movie was not boring in the least. Action was abundant. See it in 2D and still get your moneys worth.

Saw it yesterday, and really enjoyed it...I think I would have given it a B thought.  I thought at times, especially as it went on, that some elements felt a bit rushed, such as the ease with which SHIELD caved when it came to giving Jane her research and equipment back.  That aside, really good movie, really great performances from everybody, and loved seeing 3D Captain America preview on the big screen.  Although I'm also in the camp that doesn't think 3D did a whole lot to better this movie.  3D just looks better on movies that were made to be 3D.  Wish they would stop converting everything.  If you don't want to spend the money to film it that way, quit converting the f*** out of everything.

Grrr...I typed B plus, but apparently on Mania, the plus sign doesn't show up when I type it.

Saw it today!!!  Thought it GREAT!!  So I  guess the bridge gets re-built in avengers?  Saw it in 2D.  Don't want to see it in 3D.  I thought Tom Hiddleston was OUTSTANDING as Loki.

Definitely one of the best comicbook movies I've seen. Great cast, sfx and fun story.

Although, Conan O'brien believes Hemsworth was not the right choice for Thor. I can't provide a link but go to You Tube and type "Conan O’Brien Doesn’t Think Chris Hemsworth Was the Right Choice for THOR".

Funny s***.

MrGarabaldi don't forget that Loki already made it known that there's more than one way in and out of Asgard  But we know the bifrost will be rebuilt sooner or later, they have to get estimates first though. Agree 100% about Hiddleston

ElBaz, I couldn't get that voice out of my head for a couple of days, that was pretty funny. But Hemsworth was outstanding too, much better than the guy nfrom Almighty Thor

i just got back from watching it (IMAX 3D no less).  The sweeping Asgard scenes damn near had me in tears.  It was so freakin' Kirby...i LOVED it!   If i had one complaint it would be that Kat Denning's "Darcy" character had too much of the laughs -  i would've liked to have seen The Warriors Three get more of those.  Of course, that would've required copious amounts of mead (i guess TPTB didn't figure that into the budget).  BTW, the controversy over the casting of Heimdall & Hogun... not that big of a deal.

Yep, I just saw Thor in it's 2D greatness and I liked it a lot. And the fun part, the ''after-credit'' stuff looks promising indeed.

Wiseguy 5/10/2011 7:17:05 AM

Nothing to add but to repeat how great I think the film is and hope that a franchise has been borned indeed

Come on I had to round up this biatch to 100 comments one way or the other
