Universal Is Really Feeling ANGUISH (Article) - 5/11/2006 6:29:45 AM

Ahhahahah!! I loved Buckaroo Banzai as a kid! And Yeah, what about Remo Williams sequel? I remember reading the books and there were like at least five of them. Would be cool to re-invigorate it.

While we're at it, have him remake Basket Case, Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai, Ms .45 and Frankenhooker; they need big screen botox injections too. Boneheaded studios.

Marooned... metaphorically speaking (Article) - 4/17/2006 1:32:59 PM

I would have to say the worst ending of a series belongs to "Carnivale". How in the holy hell could such a great show be ended with so many questions left to be answered? And by the way, GREAT reference to the Prisoner with the "Questions/Answers" quote. Just brilliant.

Ah man!! WHY!!!?? Dippestick ruined the living crap out of Spawn why would they give this hack a classic anime to adapt to live action?? Might as well give Uwe Boll producer credits.

Sci-fi Author Butler Passes (Article) - 3/6/2006 7:15:48 AM

Batlad, in an ideal world, skin color/creed/gender shouldn't matter, but the point remains that OB entered a field that is dominated by white men. This is not a racist statement it is just the simple truth. What makes her writing that much more powerful are the themes behind her writing and how she was able to transcend the normal sci-fi formulas/paradigms. She is the only sci-fi writer ever to be awarded a MacArthur Genius Grant; that alone should be reason for her works to be given more of a platform than ever before. It is just sad that an author/artist must die before their work is truly noticed. Only 250,000 copies of "Kindred" sold? That is a travesty.

Harlan Ellison considered her one of the most thought-provoking writers of her time. There is an interview with her on NPR's website. My father and I were devastated by the loss. RIP, Octavia.
