With the first one-sheet already released (see here), FilmDistrict has now put out the OLDBOY Red Band Trailer. It looks as if there has been a few changes to the story. What do you think Maniacs?

Synopsis: OLDBOY is a provocative, visceral thriller that follows the story of an advertising executive (Josh Brolin) who is abruptly kidnapped and held hostage for 20 years in solitary confinement. When he is inexplicably released, he embarks on an obsessive mission to discover who orchestrated his bizarre and torturous punishment only to find he is still trapped in a web of conspiracy and torment. Co-starring Elizabeth Olsen and Sharlto Copley, OLDBOY was directed by Spike Lee, from a script by Mark Protosevich (I Am Legend, The Cell, Thor). The film was produced by Roy Lee, Doug Davison and Nathan Kahane.

OLDBOY, starring Josh Brolin, Elizabeth Olsen, Samuel L. Jackson and Sharlto Copley. The film is written by Mark Protosevich and directed by Spike Lee.

OLDBOY opens October 25, 2013 in theatres.

I think it looks great. Doesn't even look like a Spike Lee movie.

It also doesn't look like the old movie.  I bet people who have never seen the original will love this, but I think I'll wait and rent it.

I don't support racists so I have zero interest in this despite liking the original.

Excellent trailer. Makes you want to know more.

I saw the original many years ago and from what I remember this looks like the same plot. I seem to recall they were going to pull more stuff from the original source (novel or manga) than the first movie.

Way cool, I loved the original and will definitely go watch this one. Brolin is awesome.

Oh and Monkeyfoot, It may be generally the same plot, but I can tell you they already changed one major thing from the last movie.  Now I'm sure it will still play out the same, but without giving away a spoiler here, I'll just say they show something that he should not have known way early and also they must have changed what happened to someone slightly as well.

Yea know to be honest, this movie is so messed up that I don't know if I could sit through it again, if it ends like the last one.

Looks Good...End of Story

Almost, yeah I'm sure your're right. I've only seen it once and can't remember every detail. And also like you said, despite it being good it was a movie I really only wanted to see once.

The trailer has definately peaked my interest.  I'll check it out one of these days (probably not in a theater).

The fact that Lee has made an ass of himself on multiple occasions, with his attacks on Tarantino, Eastwood, white media, Hollywood run by Jews, and his comments about our gov't being a puppet of BP, will not deter me from seeing his movie. i also watch movies by people like Woody Allen, Roman Polanski, and Mel Gibson.  Movies are a collaborative effort.  I can admire the writing, acting, score, effects, etc. and block out the fact that the director is an idiot (or worse).

Well said Blank 1
