Oscar-winning documentary filmmaker James Marsh (Man on Wire) is jumping into the genre feature waters, with Lionsgate tasking him to direct their supernatural thriller, The Vatican Tapes. HR reports he'll director from a screenplay by Chris Borrelli, based on a story he wrote with Chris Morgan. Gary Lucchesi, Tom Rosenberg, Chris Cowles and Morgan are producing. Borrelli and Chris Fenton are executive producing.
Plot Concept: The story centers on a series of events that unfold after a tape gets leaked from the Vatican displaying an exorcism that goes wrong.
Could be mildly interesting. More likely, I'll just go watch The Exorcist again.
