Hmm, looks like RDJ is going to have at least 3 years off this time. Unless he's pulling cameo duty in one of the other films.

I was wondering if Ant and the Wasp would be in avengers 2 as well pehaps a cameo as mor scientest than hero???
Really looking forward to Thor and after a bit of research also up for a bit of Guardians now. Hoping Winter Soldier will be better than First Avenger.
I think that now they've gotten a director for GOTG you be hearing some casting news soon. I'd read that Michael Rooker has expressed a interest in voicing Rocket Racoon.
Ant-Man is after Avengers 2? Seems like it should be 11-6-14. I dont know if Ant-Man is the right choice to carry the momentum from Avengers 2 into fase 3. I think you would need a better known character, but they havent steered me wrong yet. So I will wait to see. Just hope we dont loose RDJ as Iron Man. Any one know if he is officailly on for Avengers 2 yet? Last I heard Iron Man 3 was his last role.
I believe RDJ will be in the sequel but as fans you have to accept that changre is going to happen. Sooner or later, unless RDJ is willing to negotiate a new deal and possibly accept a paycut, the role has to be recast, reduced to a cameo or outright not included.
Feige also hinted about possibly having turnover in the Avengers roster, which I like, just like in the comics. Bring on new characters and at the same time the studio keeps the payroll in check. I read that RDJ was set to make arounbd 50mil from Avengers while the others were around 2-5mil. This was due to his contract which included points.
If I could I'd pay these guys whatever to stay on but none of these films are making Avengers money, heck none are making IronMan money so you have to find a happy medium between salaries and profits for the studio
It really is a factor of age and when they will have to "reboot" the role of Tony Stark. Or, out right boredom. The guy has spent the last decade being either Iron Man or Sherlock Holmes. If I had to guess, his last turn will probably be Avengers 2.
Iron Man 3 is the last movie RDJ is currently obligated by contract to appear in for Marvel Studios. This does not mean that he can't sign a new contract, however. I wouldn't be surprised if he signed on for one or two more movies after IM3, given that it was the Iron Man franchise that boosted his career from drugged out Hollywood B-lister to A-List leading man.
As Wiseguy said though, change is inevitable. Don't be surprised if future appearances consist of nothing more than a CGI Iron Man with an RDJ voiceover intercut with HUD close-ups. You can't get away with that sort of thing in an Iron Man solo movie, but you can in an Avengers ensemble cast.
Enjoy this run while it lasts. I accept there will be change, but I don't have to like it. :-) Seriously though, looking foward to the next few years. I am ready to be entertained! I wasn't a Marvel fun until Iron Man. I am happy my eyes were open to a new world.
So we just have to assume that Avengers 2 is also unchanged?
Glad to see Ant-Man get a date. Wonder if he'll appear in Avengers 2, I'd guess that he would.
