I take it that this, like all the other One Shots, will only be available on the Blu-Ray?  Because fuck me and all the other people who don't have the money in this economy to upgrade, and are still watching lowly DVDs.  <smfh>

Same here... I will have to screen capture it after someone puts it on youtube. Wish I could buy a Blu-Ray, well not really, they will be gone in time... Something new will come along and I will need to buy Star Wars in that format.  LUCAS!!!!

It's funny, I brought a cheap LG Blu-Ray player at Walfart for around $60 and I still end up buying mostly DVDs since I can get them for half the price of Blu-Rays most of the time.

A movie has to be pretty good for me to buy a Blu-ray, this might be one of them.

I will get the blu ray just for this. I get a discount where I work so a blu ray isn't much more than a dvd luckily for me.

Capt. the press release above says it'll be included in the dvd if I'm reading that right and I'm pretty good at reading :)

CaptAmerica04 1/17/2014 7:56:32 AM

Wise, you are correct, sir.  I skimmed over the last part, rather than reading for detail.  I still, however, hesitate to believe that they will suddenly now start including the One Shots on the DVDs.  Here's to hoping, though!

I feel your pain, Cap, Like VCRs and DVDs, the prices have come down dramatically. I bought an incredible Samsung BluRay at Costco for $49 at Christmas. The regular price was $79.  It was even preloaded with apps like Hulu and Netflicks (which I dont use because of personal budgeting).

I don't think extras like the One Shots will start showing up on DVDs anytime soon, since the next big trend is moving toward cloud storage of entertainment (and I'm too old to keep up)

So I take it that they arent going with the "there is another manderin" approach??

millean 1/18/2014 7:24:04 PM

This is just the opening, who knows what the main gist of the one shot is.  There could still be another Mandarin.

Actually, if you hear the narrator/interviewer he says that Trevor has no idea what he is trying to do.  Sounds like the interviewer may be in cahoots with some nefarious evil doer!

You people have got to be kidding me...ObiWannaJones is correct... you can get a good blu-ray player for $50...that's $10 a month ($2.50 a week) for the next 5 months (I would think that even in a bad economy...and the economy ain't that bad... that would be do-able for just about anyone...even a kid on an allowance)  I can't believe anyone is using a standard DVD player on a1080p HD TV.  There's a dramatic difference in the picture quality between a DVD and a blu-ray.  Now if you don't have an HD TV that's another story...because you can't get one of those for $50.  I can't believe anyone would purchase a DVD to watch a movie like the Avengers which cost approximately a quarter of a billion dollars to make largely because of the state of the art visual effects. I don't know where you folks shop but on Amazon Blu-Rays are not twice as expensive as DVD's...a new release is usually about $10 more...and that difference shrinks...the longer the product is out there.

ObiWannaJones...I also agree with you that the next big trend is going to be Cloud storage.  If you are going to be watching movies on your ipad, kindle, or smartphone that's the way to go...and it will free up some space in your home where you used to keep stacks of movies.  I doubt youre any older than I.  We'll figure it out and if we can't our kids, nieces and nephews, or grandchildren will explain it to us.
