Marvel Superheros going to Anime

Marvel is set to exploit their comics characters in all media, and that may now include remaking their hit films for foreign markets, just as U.S. filmmakers are keen to remake foreign films for U.S. audiences.

According to the New York Times, Marvel is "teaming up with Madhouse, a renowned Japanese animation studio, to develop new versions of its characters for four anime series that will premiere in spring 2010 in Japan."

Word is that they'll be re imagining the heroes for Japanese audiences. "It will create an entire parallel universe for Marvel," said Simon Philips, president of Marvel International.

"Marvel today is so open-minded," said Jungo Maruta, the president and chief executive of Madhouse, during a recent meeting in New York. "Marvel gives creators freedom to fly."

At the press conference, Madhouse showed off manga-influenced illustrations of 'Iron Man', which may be the first offering from the new pact.
