Frank Miller has already contributed a piece to HEROES, Marvel's upcoming poster book to benefit the police and fire departments of New York City and the American Red Cross.
Marvel editor-in-chief Joe Quesada says that the poster book is targeted to for an Oct. 17 release.
"This has really touched us at Marvel in a big way," Quesada says of last week's terrorist attacks in New York City, mere miles from Marvel's offices.
"Everyone wanted to do something to help, but they won't let us move bricks and mortar. This gives us a focus to help."
The poster book was the idea of assistant editor Mike Raicht. Quesada says the book will primarily feature "images of heroes," the fight fighters and policemen. Some artists, Quesada says, will be using Marvel characters to convey their messages.
Quesada says that he is also receiving short essays, which will be paired with appropriate images.
