Marvel's Joe Quesada Talks AVENGERS

With a JUSTICE LEAGUE film possibly on the horizon, MTV had a chance to ask Marvel's editor-in-chief Joe Quesada on a possible AVENGERS movie anytime soon. Judging from the answer, we may get one but it won't be anytime soon. It seems that Marvel is thinking the opposite of  DC/WB's current strategy. WB plans to launch seperate franchises for Green Lantern, Wonder Woman and The Flash out of their upcoming JLA film...

Marvel? They'll wait for the big three to have seperate films released before bringing together an AVENGERS film. Here's what Quesada had to say to MTV.

“Strictly speaking as a fan, who wouldn’t want to see [an Avengers movie],” Quesada enthused.

While agreeing that a Marvel’s Team-up movie would be exciting, Quesada was quick to add that the chances of that actually happening were pretty astronomical. And while he wouldn’t shed any detailed insight into its feasibility, he did offer up his own dream roster for an Avengers big-budget flick.

“It would be Captain America, Thor, and Iron Man,” Quesada stated. “You can have anyone outside of that, but if you had those three characters, you have a tremendous Avengers movie. Those three characters are sort of the Holy Trinity here at Marvel.”

He's right about those three. I guess since I'm a little od fashion I'd like to see the original Avengers with Ant-Man and the Wasp and of course Cap. minus the Hulk.
And here I was thinking that they would launch individual movies with the goal of an Avengers team-up down the line. Well at least astronomical means that there is a chance it could still happen.

I really could care less about the avengers... Thor is Cool....Irion Man is cool, but Captain America (the regular Marvel U) sucks, I.m a good ol Canadian and I never `dug` the cap. With that said The Ultimates Cap Kicked ass so it depends on what kind of portrail of cap they go for.

Irion Man will Be the Next Blade(being the movie that kicked start this new comic Movie era) And change Everything....It`s Going to be Awsome.

And now that I think about it screw an Avengers Movie, Make a Frack`n Ultimates Movie.

Here's to good ol' Canadians...We f@#$ing rock!!! The Ultimates would make a sweet film... I agree totally with the statement about all three having to be in it... what kind of Avengers movie would not have Ironman, or Cap, or Thor... not a very good one, that's what kind.

YES HAHA & WOO HOO

SPIDER PIG is not part of Marvel's Trinity.

Even Quesada knows the character swallows like a Malaysian transexual!!!

CAPTAIN AMERICA is one of the greatest super heroes of all time...because he spans the length of the era of superheroes. Unlike Superman, who simply changes with the times, he is a hero from a different era, the era of WWII, when this country or ANY country (canuckle-heads...) needed heroes. Then he was thrust into the modern era, a man out of time and morales, which is what makes him unique. He's not just a boyscout with an "S" on his chest. He's a soldier with commitments to what he believes in. You don't need to live in the US to understand this...just a sense of believing in something and standing up for it. That is what makes him a great character. Filch & madmaniac, if you need to relate more...imagine him with a maple leaf on his chest. Get it? You both are very proud of being Canadians, but that doesn't mean Cap sucks because he wears the American flag. It's what he stands for that makes him cool, and I can't wait until they bring him back from the dead!

Absolutly agree with you supercollector!! Those comments by filch are just ignorant. Captain America kicks ass and I can't wait for his movie.

I do think that Marvel should have individual movies out first, and then have them lead in to an Avengers movies. I don't need an Ultimates version (although it would be fine with me if they do), but I like the idea of having Nick Fury make a cameo in each individual hero's movie and then use the Fury character as a way of bringing the big three together for an Avengers movie.

Any Avengers movie would be incomplete without Captain America; he is the heart and soul of the Avengers. Even if you leave out the "man out of time" angle, the character has so much depth. He's always been my favorite comic character.

Hey, Felcher, I mean Filch... there's a reason he was called Captain AMERICA. You're not supposed to love him. In fact, it's pretty much expected that cowards like the Canadians and French wouldn't like or get what his character is all about.

Generally I don't bash other nations, but if you want to open your mouth and spill out some ignorant crap like that, you're pretty much asking for it.

oregondude • Nov 06, 2007, 11:56pm •
celt, calling Canadians and French cowards shows how "ignorant" you are. Shut up and let others voice their opinions without the abuse. Calling him Felcher (which would be really funny were I 14) and a (hell his whole country) coward is way over the line.

celt6....
Very rarely do I ever get as pised as I am right now, and to put the childish namecalling aside, there are an aweful lot of us cowardly Canadians that have died fighting side by side with you brave Americans fighting wars that really weren't our idea to begin with... Hell I love the States, I love Captain America... but I'll tell ya what I don't love, guys who show nothing but ignorance in a tirade about how ignorant others are... there is a word for that in America isn't there... hmmmmm... what was it... OH YEAH... HYPOCRIT!!! Good job junior, you are now officially labelled.
