Stan Lee confirms Doctor Strange Movie

Plus The Black Panther and the Inhumans

By Robert T. Trate     November 09, 2012
Source: Comic Book

In a recent Interview with Comic Book, Stan Lee, confirmed the next slate of Marvel characters to get movies.
"Oh they are all being made into movies! I can tell you there will definitely be a Dr. Strange movie! They are working on Antman, which requires really small cameras! Black Panther is being developed, one of my favorites…the Inhumans…All the hero’s will eventually be made into movies”. said Lee.

Lee would go on to say: “I have very little control. I don’t see the script, occasionally I will have lunch with the director or a star, like the guy making Antman,I don’t remember his name- I don’t remember names, or Robert Downey Jr., for Ironman and we talk about the characters".

Stan the Man Lee also confirmed that he has very little to do with the films anymore, outside of cameos. However, Marvel Studios recognizes the reach and power his voice has. Take it has a rumor for now, but it is a safe bet that at least a Doctor Strange film is on the horizon for Marvel.

Thanks to darksoulja19 for the submission.

Bad ass!!! Now who is acting as the Sorcerer Supreme?  I heard that the Dr. has a cameo in Thor 2, so that would be a great way to introduce him to the world as he is a lesser known character.  This is exciting.

I also love that they are doing Black Panther(who will be him?????), Antman(again WHO?????) and even the Inhumans!  Marvel rules the comic movie world.  Sorry DC, you never had a chance.

I agree with Axia777.  DC has some good characters and storylines but compared to Marvel they are like the little fat kid in school who can't bounce the basketball, sucks to be them.

Chris Eccelston for Stephen Strange?

I agree...set him up in a movie and test the character out to the audience to see if they like him and then spinoff. Casting is crucial. Cavieziel as Dr Strange!

Gotta love Stan. "Antman requires small cameras". Great sense of humor for an 89 year old man.

Chris Eccleston is already in Thor 2 my friend Pendragon. As a character called Malekith I believe.

ElBaz that is a bomnb ass idea.  James Cavieziel as the Sorcerer Supreme would RULE.

And just for the rerord Stan 'The Man' Lee is one of the nicest humans I have ever met in my whole life, and that includes my grandmother. Met him in the mid-90's in Cali at the local comic book shop. He hung out with us after his presentation and geeked out on comic books for around 2 hours.

Robert Downey Jr. for Dr. Strange, Robert Downey Jr. for Antman and Robert Downey Jr. for Black Panther (he played a black guy in Tropic Thunder).

I think Johnny Depp would make a great Dr. Strange (they don't come stranger than him); Viggo Mortensen would be my second choice.  Caveziel could work, but I 'd rather see him as DareDevil.  I'd be cool if they could keep it a secret then reveal him in Thor 2.

Benedict Cumberbatch for Antman with Simon Pegg as Egghead.

I think Peter Mensah would be an excellent Black Panther; he's a bona fide bad a$$!

It's good to hear that the Doctor Strange production is on solid footing.  With any luck, we'll hear something more substantial from Marvel at the 2013 Comic-Con.  I'm curious as to how they're going to handle such a blatant user of magic on film in the Marvel Movie Universe.  So far, they've kept that sort of thing very minimal.  A bit of magic from Loki from time to time, but mostly just manipulating people.

Maybe that's what Phase II has in store for us- the introduction of magic to the Marvel Movie Universe.  We've got The Mandarin in Iron Man 3 and Malekith the Accursed in Thor: The Dark World after all.  By the time Doctor Strange comes to the silver screen, the audience may be accustomed to the idea.

Viggo would also be an awesome idea too.
