Macgawd, I don’t know if this is still the case, but I recall a comment from someone related to Marvel movies (Avid Arad perhaps) on the next comic book adaptations and the idea for the Thor movie would be to make an epic Nordic mythology pic (like Clash of Titans) instead of a strait super-hero flick. Personally, I think it would be a great way to introduce the character and a fresh take on the subject, especially if they keep the “super-hero†feel about Thor but in a mythological setting. However, with this new “Avengers†movie (a concept that I never liked, BTW) on the horizon, that probably changed to a more traditional super-hero concept movie. At least they picked a decent director this time.

Cool a Thor movie. I never read a lot of thor. I like the Ultimates version of him. I hope they make this movie cool, NOW for the real reason I wanted to post on this topic. To raise awareness Whoever came up with the expanding window advertisements n this site sucks a dick! I can't stand it!I cant even fucking cruise this site with out some goddamn ad I dont care about popping up! If I was Fucking interested in Flash Gordon(which I was before this annoying, and invasive advertising) I would click on the ad. The same goes for that fucking stupid Who wants to be a superhero! I don't want my computer to slow down because the tip of my mouse gets to close to a freakin ad! MANIA STOP THESE ADS! now this is how I feel if any other site users feel this way please let Mania know it. I gotta feeling this won't work which will prove my point to all of you who hate when I say you can't change executives decisions by complaining.

A Thor movie, about time! He has always been relegated to cheese side character or team player in movies or cartoons. The Hulk TV movie sadly comes to mind first. Unfortunately the 'origin' movie of Thor would be the Donald Blake-walking stick-Thor vs aliens or Loki on earth schtick. Cheesy or not I'll watch it although I'd prefer a mythical storyline.

I just saw Stardust today, and halfway through the movie I thought, "My god, if only he'd stayed on, X-Men 3 would have been phenomenal." According to interviews (the one I read was on aintitcool.com) Vaughn said that Fox was sticking to a hard timetable, and he needed more time to make it work. He also admits to being the one who brought Kelsey Grammar in as the Beast (which despite my initial misgivings, did work). I really enjoyed Stardust, and I think Vaughn can do tremendous work with a richly established character like Thor. Okay maybe not tremendous, but it should be better than Ghost Rider or Elektra. GAH, sorry my eyes just started bleeding as I remembered those two flicks.

I think I'll join the ranks and say this has the potential to freakin awesome...it's funny that we're all mentioning the guy from the 13th Warrior...it was on the other night...he would be totally perfect in this role...I can see him with a big ass hammer thumping people right now....I can even see LOTR/Clash of the Titans type of movie...could be fun! Definitely make it better than GR
