Some day May the 4th might mean something....praying Lucas wakes up someday to the real fans.

I hope I don't come across as a troll here but I am curious; what is a "real" fan?

Wiseguy 5/4/2012 3:07:49 PM

I'm not trolling either Sinister because all fans consider themselves the "real fans" hence I don't consider fans of Nolan's Batman true Batman fans but anyway not to change the subject.  I'd venture to say as far as Star Wars that the folk that still want or consider HanSolo the one who shot first and not Greedo think themselves the true fans, me I love everything SW, even the changes haven't bothered me.......only JarJar Binks

Anyway this is AVENGERS DAY this year and the force is with them

I think along the same lin Wise.  My question wasn't really aimed at that answer but to hopefully encourage people to question their own belief in the matter.  I know this is the interwebs and that means that you are never going to win any arguement or change anyone's mid regardless of how well thought out your response.  Nevertheless, I feel that when someone says they are a "real" fan they are, either by design or accident, putting themselves into an elitist position.

Please note, Dazzler that I am not implying that you have done this or are trying to.  I realize that a lot of long time Star Wars fans were turned off by the prequels and the Special Editions of what were, in many opinions, perfectly fine movies.
