DreamWorks Pictures has signed newcomer Dan Mazeau to redraft a script for an Untitled Action Film about lunar colonization. The film, starring Jake Gyllenhaal, will be directed by Doug Liman (Jumper, The Bourne Identity) who originally penned the first screenplay with John Hamburg and author Mark Bowden (Black Hawk Down). Mazeau will be revamping that story "based on an original story by Liman, Bowden and Simon Kinberg."

Former Paramount co-president of production Alli Shearmur will produce with writer/producer Kinberg and Liman. Dave Bartis is executive producing.

Mazeau last month turned in his latest draft of Jonny Quest, a live-action adventure based on the animated '60s Hanna-Barbera TV series.

I'd love to see more Solar System sci fi flicks... We had a rut of movies about Mars, and Sunshine was a good enough movie, but it's about time for a new round... Exploring Europa or Titan, or even colonizing Venus' upper atmosphere... I dunno. I've always been intrigued by that kind of stuff.

Yeah, good luck with Venus. I think we'd survive about 6 seconds there.
But I agree about our solar system stuff. That would be fun.

As for this movie, I think it sounds great and though I haven't yet seen Jumper I though Liman did a great job with Bourne and I love Black Hawk Down so the group they have assembled is sweet, but Mazeau better not screw it up.

I care more about that Johnny Quest script. That would definitely be a kickass action movie. I read that it was close to being greenlighted. Also read that He-Man's script was done and read like a LOTR type epic. I hope they move on this stuff first. The moon can wait. Different studios anyway.

I have absolutely no interest in anything involving Jake Gyllenhaal. As interesting as this sounds, his involvement guarantees I won't see it.

Gyllenhaal isn't one of my favorites, but have you ever seen October Sky. It's a great movie and I don't have any problem with the guy. Why do you not like him?

Hard to get excited without more detail. I have no problem with Gyllenhaal. He's not my favorite, but I don't dislike him. October Sky is one of my wife's faves. I haven't seen it yet.

I'd love to go to Hollywood and become a famous filmmaker just so I could make a movie called Untitled Action Film.

I just find him/his movies to be boring. I'm sure it's just me.

He was great in Zodiac, which was one of my favorite movies of last year. Also liked him in Harvey... I mean Donnie Darko.

I think it'd be even more fun to be part of a marketing team developing a marketing strategy to sell a movie called Untitled Action Film than being the director of that project. Can you imagine giant posters in movie theaters with big, white letters "UNTITLED ACTION FILM - COMING SOON!" on them? What would the tag line be? Maybe "What's in a name?"

He was also Bubble Boy
