Media Blasters added a new bit of news to their official Facebook today with word that they've picked up Mazinkaizer SKL for release in the US. The three episode OVA series is planned for a May 2011 release, runtime of 75 minutes, and they indicate that there's a chance it could get a Blu-ray release as well since it was released in high definition. Pop onto their page to show your support for the title and for Blu-ray if you want to see that. The series is slated for release in Japan with a new volume each month from January to February 2011, so the potential for slippage on the US release is definitely there if snags are hit in Japan. The series is getting both a DVD and Blu-ray release, each OVA separately of course. This release marks the 11th Mazinger series made based on Go Nagai's work with director Jun Kawagoe supervising the Dynamic Planning production with animation by Actas.
