Dexter: Dirty Harry Review (Article) - 10/27/2009 5:43:11 PM

I think this is exactly hw Trinity would have killed Lundy. He chooses is targets very catrekully to satisfy a very deep need, if Lundy didn't fit that profile before he's not going to now because it would be convenient to to his survival.  This would be an off script kill nd he'd feel more exposed than he does with his other vicitims, he would need to make it look like that other major case in the news and that would be the priority and the focus of his efforts and illing method.  That it goes against his need killiongs probably does cause him stress.  and fear.

I agree if Rush was really trying to get rid of the crew off or killed he'd be acting nice as pie. Or creepily overzealously ingraciating like Gaius Baltar in season one. Like Tim Hutton said in Leverage you don't drive over the speed limit if you're hiding a body in the trunk. There's reason Dexter acts unassuming and nice to everyone and brings everybody donuts at the precint he has stuff to hide.

Dollhouse: Belonging Review (Article) - 10/26/2009 11:29:46 AM

Defintely more Amy Acker, her performance in the season premier was the highlight of the whole series, I'd love to see her and her tormented issues with Topher get played out more. topher was brilliant here, continuing the journey Whiskey/Saunders put him on. Echoe's pushing people into moral and emotional; conflicts is fascinating. Wanbt to know more about this Storm. I wonder if waking people up will be a sort of better intentioned version of what Alpha tried to do to her. Sierra was brilliant both as herself and as her Doll, Victor was brilkliant botyh as the art guy and as his Doll self. Keith Carradine as unbelievably creepy and slimy as the bad guy, the complete opposite of Agent Lundy from Dexter. Brilliant show. Loved Ventressca and Adell to, her barely contained fury was palpable and he was one of the sleeziest characters I've ever seen, quite diferent from his Darian Fawkes. You might also add to Frakes credits David Xanatos of Gargoyles opne of the coolest characters in American animation. And I think he directed some of those episodes. He also directed some recrent episodes of Leverage which is a cool Fun show . I also liked his turn as Will Riker's transporter clone in Deep Space Nine.

Stargate Universe: Light Review (Article) - 10/26/2009 8:26:42 AM

Actually the Ancients did look like modern humans beforee they died out from a plague or evolved into a higher plane of existence.  The little grey auiens were ccalled the Asgard and were alive and corporeal until they died out in the last episode f Srgate SG-1, only later in the last season of Stagate Atlantis did they find that an evil renegade group of Asgard survive in the Pegasus galaxy.

I agree that this is more like Lost than BSG.  Despite the BSG look.  Dark cordors and shaky cam and cose ups.   Eli is clearkly a Hurley giving audience perspective and humour to the series.  Rush has Sawyers need to push every one away,  Locke's special  relationshiop with the island/space ship, and a bit of Desmond's prophetic visions of doom that nobody wants to listen to, with a Scotish brogue no less.  We have the scared agnry villagers whop cornered Eli llast episode in a kill Piggy scene demanding he tell them things he didn't know.  And represented here by sergeant dikhead trying to start a riot befre getting clocked in my favorite sescene with  Greere that's how you stop a riot.  How many riot scenes have I scene in movies where I hoped someone would just clock the jerk who was trying to start it all.  I also liked his beginning of ep speech.  And it has the middle aged white dudes who contribute nothing of practical value but spend the whole time whining about how underappreciated they are.  Thankfully not very present in this ep.

I think Young would have hidden the stones away to keep someone from sacrifcing said shnuck to save their own life.  Plus, if it worked they'd be on a militarry base surrounded by armed soldiers who would know they just commited murder,of one of their own people no less.  That surviving shmuck would either be executed on the spot or spend the rest of his life in a very dark place area 51.

If the frst victim represented his sister maybe she killed herself later or was already much older thamn he was at the time if the boy represented him.

I caught the late late showing so I was a bit sleepy but I could have sworn that guy at the bar was making out with another guy before Lithgow confronted him, and I'm sure I heard Lithgow call him   F a g g o t before that guy hit him. Either way I didn't think it was anyone his father actually knew just someone who represented his father to him at that time.

I liked the paert where that cop lady kept thinking Dexter was going to r a p e her and he laughed and said what 's your ddweal with that, like she was just being a little to full osf hrherself and her good looks.

By the way this profanity filter is getting rediculous I had to edit my post about twenty times before I figured out what it thought was a profanity. Which is not a word I would have recognized as such even in a childrens movie.

My current theory about Trinity is that his father was having an affaire with another man and his mother committed suicide when she found out.  That's why he confronted that man outside the bar and said "It's all your fault."

As for the shooting, the next week on preview seemed to strongly indicate that it was Trinity who shot them, which I hope iis true since it would give Dexter a real reason to go aftyert Trinity in particular.  In  a way that would develop his character and his relationships rather than Trinity just bering another hunt.

It rerally does feel like this season is really going now.  I liked the prologue episodes and they were important but this really feels like we're moving into the plot.
