The director, McG, who was once attached to a Superman sequel quite a while back has now signed a new 3 year deal with Warner Bros, says Variety. He's already got three different projects ready to go inside the new deal with the studio.

NIGHTCRAWLERS: Action based comedy about a neurotic father who must face childhood monsters.

YUCATAN: Centers around hunters in the Yucatan peninsula. This story concept was originally made by the late great Steve McQueen who had storyboards and left notes on the project. McQueen's son Chad and godson Lance Sloan are producing the flick.

The third movie is an untitled spy drama/thriller.

I'm sorry, he might be a cool person but as far as being a director...he sucks.

I think McG & Brett Ratner should just go away.

What's a good movie McG has made?

So far he's done Two Charlie's Angels and We Are Marshall and some videos; how he got the first Angel gig, I'll probably never know. I'm not particularly a fan of the Angel films, but then, I'm not a huge fan of over the top film making in general. And considering his prior limited experience (at least according to imdb), it's a promising start. I remember We Are Marshall being pretty good, and it's a totally different type of film. So, while a 3 film deal is still a little surprising, I'm not going to assume his next films are going to suck.

Still, it's easy not to like a guy who is still using his "trying-to-sound-fly-but-really-just-a-lame-white-guy" nickname from middle school - or so I'm guessing.

Anyone who does not like the first Charile's Angels movie is just an uber-film snob. It was so much fun. I will agree the second one just went so far over the top, it was barely watchable. It was great eye candy (in every sense), but just dumb. We Are Marshall shows that he can make a good movie grounded in reality. I am bummed that he is not making the "Hot Wheels" movie anymore. I bet that would have been cool. I am looking forward to seeing more movies by him to really judge what he can do.

Whiskeymovie ...I have to agree with you...I enjoyed the first Charlie's Angels for what it was and the movie Marshall did show he could at least grasp the concept of Drama, so I will also wait and see where his natural progression as a director takes him...

Both Charlie's sucked! Other than Exec. producing ok shows (Supernatural and The O.C.) he has given the film industry shit.

Hanso mentioned Brett Ratner. Its kind of funny that both of them exec produce pretty damn good TV shows. (Supernatural, Prison Break), but as far as directing goes, they both are in my opinion subpar. Ratner to his credit at least has Rush Hour 1-3. Those are pretty entertaining flicks, while I hated bot Charlie Angels andhave yet to see We Are Marshall.
