Like The Mummy's Rob Cohen, director McG is getting into the groove of updating his official blog for Terminator Salvation. The man behind production has updated the blog once again, which you can check out below.

We are half way through filming. Our teaser is in theaters and playing before The Dark Knight.

You will see that this is a movie inspired by the first films, but is a true new beginning in that it takes place in the future.

All three Terminator films took place present day, with Terminators traveling back in time to attack. This picture takes place after Judgment Day. It happened. Everything is gone. The story of the movie is the "brink moment" Reese always talked about.

From a technical perspective, we have set out to achieve a completely new visual style that hasn't been seen before. We're shooting the film on color stock but are using a method inspired by the Oz process which was developed at Technicolor by Mike Zacharia and Bob Olson. Basically we are adding three times as much silver. It creates a surreal texture that is in keeping with the notion of the entire picture - feeling detached from the world we know today.

Every morning and every night Christian and I work on the story. Sam's contribution has been excellent. We are committed to putting the story and character first and then supplementing that with action and visual effects. It is our intention to make a film on a large scale with the nuance and subtext of a high quality independent picture.

The richness of the story is really coming out now. It's a Prometheus tale really, how creating life creates real responsibility - and if left unchecked, can be our undoing.

The entire crew takes the making of this film very seriously. I made a point of hiring key personnel that are passionate about getting this right. Everyone is well versed in the mythology.

Comicon is this weekend. I look forward to sharing the film with the passionate.

Terminator Salvation will hit theaters May 22, 2009.

This week EW has Watchmen in the cover and some stuff on Comic Con, including a picture of Bale as John Connor.<BR itxtvisited="1" />McG says they are going for a "Children of Men" feel with the "Transformers" velocity for this Terminator.

Well that makes sense since the trailer looked like the preview for Transformers 2. I know I'm a hater for this film but even people I know who want to see this said the same thing.

I didn't even know he had a blog on this movie. Don't know if I'll check it out, or just let Mania update me on significant events...

On a slightly side note, anyone else see the story about Christian Bale getting arrested in London on Monday for assault? The story claims he assaulted his mother and sister before the European screening of the Dark Knight.

I'm really, really looking forward to this. I'm feeling real optimistic about the whole project and think McG is going to quiet all the doubters. I think it's his apparent enthusiasm for the whole thing that leads me to believe that. I hope Bale has his shit together and doesn't let his stardom, which is exploding right now thanks to Batman, go to his head. I usually feel that British actors seem to have it a little more together than Americans but there are exceptions.

McG is definitely enthusiastic about the films. In EW he also says they are trying to do with Terminator what Nolan did for Batman.

According to the AP Bale was released on bail after 4 hours of questioning and has denied any assault took place. His sister made a statement that "it's a family matter". Hmmmm. Bale needs to return sometime in September. On to this topic: I am very psyched for this. Was since the people involved were announced and even more so once I heard that familiar music in the trailer. As stated above McG is obviously enthusiastic about the project and I'm confident he'll do a great job.

Im sorry but anyone who insists on being called "McG" is a tool automatically and by default that means you don't have to like anything he does no matter how good it might be.

I am excited. I really hope McG's enthusiasm about this is genuine and serves this trilogy well. I think the fact he is getting input from CB and others is good sign. I love the Terminator franchise, the mythos of this great saga as well. It really rewards its fans, IMO (T3 included) for being invested. So I hope this is good
