Also says Call of Duty films on the horizon.

Fans of HBO's "Rome" will also be pleased to learn that a script is out there for a theatrical film feature based on the series which was canceled in its second season. The NY Post's Pop Wrap talked with actor Kevin McKidd, who confirmed the film is in the works and his interest in returning to the role of Lucius Vorenus.

"There is a script that is being shopped and it's supposedly very good, I haven't seen it, but I am definitely going to be a part of the movie," Kevin told PopWrap. He then went on to say that his character, soldier/politician Lucius Vorenus, is not dead despite what happened in the show. "He very much alive, so that should be a fun story to tell."

And with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 hauling in over $500 million in its first five days of release, it shouldn't be too surprising for fans to hear a film franchise is being shopped around Hollywood.

How is CODMW2 related to Rome?

Maybe because he voices Captain "Soap" McTavish

I’m a huge Rome fan. I would like to see both on big screen with the right people being involved. Bruno Heller is doing the “Mentalist” now but not to big a stretch for him to produce Rome between seasons.

I think they should stay away from bringing Modern Warfare to the big screen.  The story ain't nothing to write home about, and character wise you really aren't attached to any of them because you play a couple of different ones during the game.  Unlike say something like Uncharted or God of War where you follow Nathan Drake's and Kratos's story completely.

Main hook of the MW is the multiplayer and that won't make it to the big screen.

I agree with not putting CODMW on screen. Storywise, there is nothing particularly special about it. Sure it's fun to play but it would just be another war film. I'm sure it could be done well but you could write any special ops focused screenplay and slap the title on it. Tada ... it's Call of Duty.

Now a Rome film I would be interested in.  HBO pulled the plug on that one way to early.  And regardless of how it looked at the end, I always imagined Vorenus surviving.  Although it is unfortunate that Marc Antony is dead because he was a great character.

If you need to have watched the series to know what's going on the movie will fail. Afterall it was cancelled due to low ratings and high production cost. So it better be a stand alone film otherwise I'm skipping it since I didn't catch the series nor do I intend on

My vote goes to Nathan Filion as Nate Drake in an Uncharted movie :D

Nathan Fillion or Chris Evans if they go younger for Drake.

My only problem with Rome is it needed a little more balance. If they do a movie lets get a little more sword fighting in there to balance out the politics and sex. The Vorenus/Pullo buddy cop angle I thought was under used.

If I remember right they canceled the show BEFORE season 2 aired and before they won 4 emmys for season 1. They also made a pretty penny on the dvd sales between airings and ended up regretting the cancelation.

At that point the actors were off on other gigs and the sets tore down. Always hated them for canceling this show but at least it wrapped up nicely.

I believe I read the script may have something to do with a certain upstart Jew running around at the time
