McSweeney, Swan Combine for Monster BAT

By: Jarrod Sarafin

Scribes Drew McSweeney and Scott Swan have already worked on some horror features for the small screen with their "Masters of Horror" episodes Cigarette Burns and Pro-Life. Now, the duo are branching to the big screen for a new spin on a classic monster villain. While Variety didn't give any plot details for this new monster flick, Bat Out of Hell, Ryan Rotten over at Shock Til You Drop explains that the title and the location...a monster lurking in the cargo hold (think a box) of a passenger plane sorta hints that it may be a blood thirsty villain we know well.

*Yawn* Oh, hey Jarrod, I bet you're tired of hearing people bitch about how much they hate the new site. How about something that I actually *like* about the new site? I like the comments getting posted immediately and being kept on the same page as the article. I hated getting that "You will be returned to the page shortly. Click here to be returned immediately" message. Other than that, bring back the list of headlines on the side. Yay! Edit is back!! Thanks Mania!!

Jarrod I know I bitched enough about the new design, so let me give you and co. props for listening to the users and bringing back the edit feature, maybe it was already in the works but good job and it appears that most of the regulars have posted comments so maybe things are getting back to normal somewhat. Now how about letting us format our comments as far as paragraphs and spacing and you won't hear me bitch again............I hope this film isn't going to use ManBat as a model for the villain, I want that for a future Batman film.

So I read the title and thought "Cool! They're finally making a movie based on Meat Loaf's classic album. This could be great." But alas, that is not to be. Sounds like Dracula meets Snakes on a Plane. Hello Sci-Fi Saturday nights! Look ... paragraphs. Sweet.

OK. I thought I was making paragraphs ... shit.
