The movie: RUNS

The action thriller centers on Interpol agent who, while pursuing a murder suspect through Mexico City, drinks some of the local water.

This was also the title of an action movie from the late 80s/early 90s starring Patrick Dempsy where he was running the whole movie from like the mob or something. I remember that being a good movie, maybe this will be in the same vein. I love a good action movie, and McTiernan used to be an action GOD, so lets see if he can make a good come back with this....PS, I think Karl Urban is quite good, he just need to find the right veichele to get him to A-List status.

Plot is ehh (sounds more like a rentable Steven Segal film than a top shelf action flick...are Segals' films even worth renting these days?), but I like Urban (he's the next Gerald Butler-just waiting for that right role to push him into stardom) and Mc Tiernan, so I'm looking forward to seeing a trailer.

If ever there was a plot that sounded paper-thin, this would be it. Then again, maybe it's not so much the plot but the part about 100 pages of the script including car chases. Even if the script were 140 pages that's an insane amount of time devoted to chasing. I'll probably rent it since I love McTiernan's films and it's been too long since he's made a decent movie.

Not a big car chase fan, so I'm not really interested.

If there's that much car chasing, shouldn't it be called Drive? Maybe they don't want to be associated with the too-soon-cancelled Fox series.

Whiskeymovie, I think about that movie every time I see a news piece about Patrick Dempsey on Grey's Anatomy. I don't watch the show, but I have fond memories of the movie. I'm waiting for them to try to capitalize on his popularity on the show by re-releasing all of his old movies on DVD. So far, I haven't been able to find Run. I enjoyed it. And Kelly Preston was hot in it. That was before she got all Scientology-fied.

P.S. Not the most original premise for a movie. Ah well. To be expected.

fft5305...Scientology nutcase or not, Kelly Preston is still hot! She's in the same category with Diane Lane; they just get sexier and more beautiful with age.

$30 million dollars is not a very big budget. I imagine they may be filming in eastern europe where the money will go farther.
I know McTiernan was found guilty of illegally wiretapping a studio producer with the aid of an shady detective. That's why his star hasn't been as bright on the Hollywood scene. I guess that's not stopping the filming.

Um, a 100 pages of a car chase? No thanks. Am I the only one tired of car chases? Seriously, they bore me. They aren't a thrill at all anymore. I'd rather have a psychological spy thriller.
