Media Blasters Creates Moribito Walmart Exclusive

By Chris Beveridge     January 08, 2009

Moribito: Guardian of the Spirit Vol. #1

Without any fanfare, Media Blasters has apparently created an exclusive edition release of Moribito for retailer Walmart. In normal retail channels, Media Blasters has released a couple of configuriations for Moribito for the first pair of discs. The Walmart exclusive is a six disc set that contains the first ten episodes spread across five discs while the sixth disc has a small selection of extras such as clean opening and closings, commercials and a promotional video. The set is done as a single sized keepcase so it has a small footprint. The packaging pushes the six disc aspect which can be deceptive as many will think it's the entire series instead of the first ten episodes. No word on whether the remaining sixteen episodes will receive similar treatment or whether this will find its way into other channels. The set can be had for a low price of just under $20, but if no further sets come out, it's fairly incompatible with the regular eight disc release that Media Blasters currently has scheduled.

Two episodes on one disc is just about the dumbest thing ever.

what is going on with this company ,they cant even get the release dates for the next dvd release squared away and now they pull this, and they wonder why they dont sell any dvds for the show because the huge anime fans that collect the dvds are going to lose interest in the show because the complany cant get there act together ,that is just like what funamation did with pumpkin scissers dvd 6 and welcome to the nhk dvd 6,they didnt release it for along time and than they made part one and two then screwed the fans that bought the dvds vol up till now .saying what that we have to buy it all over again ,than they come out with the release dated than change it again than they dont have it in stock now because the only store that funamation is going to release it to is rightstuff.com and they dont have it in because the manufacture aka funamation has not shipped it to them yet and than you have to wait .dvds are not cheep in this day in age and what about the fans of the show that bought vol 1 &2  together deal that only had 7 shows and now have changed the release date for the next dvd ,that was in febuary but now has benn taken off this website for future releases list and no date is given ,so i ask you what now    thank you   matt

eah I don't know why 20 minutes of anim seem to take up twce as much space as 45 minutes of say Babylon 5 5.1 Dolby.    Brilliant series though, been watching this on Adult swim.

I don't think I will get this version. It reminds me of the Walmart exclusive version of Inuyasha. Just more disk.
