Media Blasters Delays Numerous Releases - Again

Media Blasters has sent out a new bit of information this afternoon that deals with... delays. After going through some warehouse changes in the last month, it isn't too much of a surprise to see a number of titles adjusted. Curiously, their Kitty Media titles by and larger are getting delayed and re-scheduled while the mainstream titles are getting mostly an indefinite delay. For those who have been following Kanokon and Queen's Blade, this is definitely an extra kick in the guy considering the delays so far and it's hard to see how Media Blasters will be able to keep fans interest in these titles with these kinds of repeated delays. Some of the Kitty Media titles were solicited late last year and are now being delayed almost upwards of a year. Twin Dolls, in fact, was scheduled for release today and is only now known to not be arriving.

These titles are being rescheduled with the new date listed next to them:

  • Fleshdance (Shimaizuma) - 10/5/2010
  • Twin Dolls: Holy Beast Legends - 10/26/2010
  • Queen's Blade The Exiled Virgin: The Beaten Path, Vol. 2 - 10/26/2010
  • Urotsukidoji: Legend of the Overfiend (The Movie) - 11/16/2010
  • Urotsukidoji: Legend of the Overfiend (The Movie) Blu-Ray / DVD Combo - 11/16/2010
  • Oh My Sex Goddess (Megachu) - 11/30/2010

The titles below have been removed from the schedule (original release dates listed):

  • Fleet of Doom Blu-ray - 9/28/2010
  • Kanokon Vol. 2 - 8/31/2010
  • Kanokon Vol. 3 - 10/26/2010
  • Queens Blade Blu-ray Collection - 10/26/2010
  • Queens Blade Collection - 10/26/2010
  • Queen's Blade, Vol. 3 - 10/26/2010
  • Urotsukidoji OVA (1-3) - 10/19/2010
  • Venus 5 - 9/21/2010

You can find discussion on these changes here.

kusanagi-sama 8/10/2010 2:57:35 PM

Dont mind as long as we get them eventually.

Definitely the new Bandai in town. To see some of the titles completely disappear from the schedule is both pathetic and saddening. I knew it was too good to be true to see a BluRay collection of Queen's Blade hit anywhere outside of Japan.

Although none of these titles were any I was planning on purchasing, this is still very sad.  I had hoped Queen's Blade could sell really well and help get Media Blasters back on their feet somewhat, but with what they are doing it seems any chance of that happening is becoming an afterthought.  I hate to say it, but I wonder if this isn't just more clear signs that Media Blasters will not be around for much longer.......

God dammit, I was really looking forward to getting Queen's Blade on Bluray.

Guess that just gives me more time to save up fro a Bluray player though >_>

You know...

If anybody wanted to make the case against "illegal downloading..."

On top of the US anime licensors, mainly FUNi, getting what's POPULA~R (and what steps on, or avoids, young guys)...

On top of Eric Smurf, from Poof Sputter, being a little smurf and blaming everyone else instead of admitting his own problems...

On top of Snickering Fat Guy dubbing what they want and hoping to build a legacy on POPULA~R titles...

On top of Nozomi/Stuf thinking they the hottest despite their "glorified fansubs," along with beating the dead horse named Tylor...

On top of Bancolding$; missing out on the advantages introduced from their Kurokami project and STILL kissing KyotoAnimu's boots ala K-on...

We have this.  I've been wondering WHY for the longest time.  But I might as well get this out of the way right now:

"Economy, Stupidity;" "anime being an expensive hobby for broke people," "Cool Japan being in their own Great Depression," and "the elephant in the room nobody wants to talk about" being "the tsundere beating some defenseless guy up" non-withstanding.  The "golden age" of anime is long gone.

I was there doing said "golden age;" that period between the introduction of NuTech Anime, and the fattening of that company's head before going to court over the placing of the shows as downloadables.  It's been over; we're all just spinning our wheels now.

I was really looking forward to buying Shimaizuma 3 a.k.a "Fleshdance" this month but nope, yet ANOTHER delay comes up, this is about the 3rd delay I've seen for this release since I've been following it. When will Media Blasters finally get their shit together enough to finally release something?

RKOMe2011 8/12/2010 10:13:27 PM

I was really lookin forward  to Kanokon I also liked Queen's Blade but I would rather have Kanokon finished one of the best ones I have seen in some time. Not to dog on Queen's Blade that to was an awesome one also along the lines of Ikki Tousen.

I am hoping that at least Kanokon v2 will still be released sometime this year and then release v3 sometime in 2011 as long as that happens I am ok with that they are still some others I wanna check out.

It scares me when these get delayed it always happens to the ones you like the most or the volume you need next like you are on Volume 1 then sorry 2 has been delayed or canceled I hope Queen's Blade and Kanokon will not get canceled they are really good.

I dont mind a couple of months delay I just hope they havent got the axe seems to me like media Blasters may be in some trouble or having some promblems.
