Sorry themovielord, I usually love your reviews, but cannot understand why you would give this an A. Other than the shaky cam, how is this movie different from Godzilla or the American version of Godzilla? The people in the film are so STUPID that it really dumbs New York down. After 9-11, do you think they would be THIS dumb? CGI is good. But we don't see all that much, and when we have a chance of looking at the monster(s), we see screaming people. That is entertainment? This is not a movie, but more of a live abstract painting. It had potential, but the hype was sickening. |

Obviously theCOLLECTOR you are a fan of Godzilla movies. The guy in the suit has never really done it for me. I can see how if you are a fan of the genre that you would be disappointed. I like the "less is more" attitude when it comes to horror films. I only want to see bits and pieces never the whole thing because when you do it doesn't look real anymore. I agree with you on the 9-11 New Yorkers but if they were smart we would have no story. If Frodo and Gandalf were smart they would have contacted the EAGLES and have themselves flown over Mt. Doom and dropped the ring in, then called it an afternoon. For movies and stories sometimes we have to give in to movie person stupidity or else we'd have nothing to watch. |

I think an A is a perfect grade for this movie. I just got back and was very, very impressed with this movie. Good review as well, Lord. |

I'm one of the MANY people who suffered from motion sickness watching this mediocre film. I left the theater after about 30 minutes and went and got my money back. Don't get me wrong -- I like documentary-style films like Blair Witch, but this shaky-cam was freakin' ridiculous! Now, I'm reading where all of these theaters are posting warnings at the ticket booths and some theaters in LA are handing out barf bags. Just Google: Cloverfield Motion Sickness Unfortunately, the characters made me want to blow chunks as well. You would think New Yorkers would be smarter after 9-11, but these idiots really pissed me off with their stupidity. There was nothing like-able about them, so I hope the big monster ate them or stepped on them. This movie was a steaming pile of crap. |

Wow, I have never left a movie before... not even to go to the bathroom... Sorry masterjedidude, some movies aren't for everybody. Atonement was an incredible film (trust me, use your 10 bucks towards that instead). |

Atonement, are you kidding me? LOL No, go see There Will Be Blood and you will see a brilliant movie...It's in my top 5 now... I'm sure Atonement was good in it's own right, as one of those chick flicks... Oh, by the way I like the review and thought the movie deserved an A grade also... |

Atonement was incredible. It bordered on a chick flick but as a writer it was incredible. There will be blood is on my list for this week. |

Well, you knew what type of movie this was right, MasterJediDude? I mean, you knew it was going to be shaky, and if you have motion sickness, why would you even pay to go and see a film like this? |

1) Loved the review MLord, good job 2) Loved the movie, and I am a fan of Giant monster movies. i thought the movie delivered a real sense of being right there in the midst of all the mayhem. The Monster wasn't what I expected and that is a really good thing! I'm glad it looks unconventional and wasn't a morphed version of other giant monsters. This was an "edge of your seat", roller coaster ride I truly enjoyed and will go see again, Kudos to Cloverfield! 3) I get motion sickness just thinking about motion sickness and this film did not bother me at all. I guess I was lucky:) |

I never get motion sickness. Not on roller coasters, not on planes, not on the ocean. But I definitely started to feel sick during this movie. Which just heightened the sense of dread for me. Good movie and great review. I'm glad I paid to see this one in the theater. |
