Poul Anderson, who authored more than 100 books, died earlier this week as a result of prostate cancer.

Anderson's career spanned over 50 years earning him three Nebula Awards and seven Hugo Awards, and his recent GENESIS recieving the John W. Campbell Memorial Award for the best science fiction novel of the year. Anderson was of the old school of writers, focusing on hard science fiction stories, though he did dabble in other areas, including a humorous series of books written with Gordon R. Dickson, or fantasy work like THREE HEARTS AND THREE LIONS.

Our condolences go out to his family and friends.
