MGM seems intent on remaking one of the 1970s quirkiest, most low-rent action series, WALKING TALL. The story, originally staring Joe Don Baker and Leif Garrett, centered on a tough talking southern sheriff who's weapon of choice was a big baseball bat. David Klass (KISS THE GIRLS, DESPERATE MEASURES) has been assigned to pen the remake. Hyde Park Entertainment will produce with MGM.
As Hyde Park Co-Chairman and Co-CEO David Hoberman told THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER, "It seemed time for a movie about someone who takes the law into his own hands and rights the wrongs of a corrupt community."
