Michael Caine Updates on DARK KNIGHT

Actor Michael Caine has put up an update on his official site in regards to the shooting of DARK KNIGHT. From what he has to say, his end of shooting in the film is about to end with one more Chicago shoot scheduled for next month.

I have just got back from my second trip to Chicago where I am shooting "Batman", my jet lag has gone so I feel like updating this site.

I have one more stint in Chicago in a month time, then I will be finished on the 2nd "Batman" the great revelation of working on this is Heath Ledger who plays the "The Joker". I have seen him on film and I have worked with him and I must say it is quite an extradinary performance.

DARK KNIGHT hits theaters on July 18, 2008.

This is a nice compliment, but I had faith as soon as I heard his voice in the teaser.... It was sinister, and twisted.

Just watched the comic-con clip and the teaser trailer. Both have me seriously psyched for TDK. I`m sorry but Ledger sounds like a certifiable psychopath, which is spot on. I was reading and interview with him in Empire and he said that the one comic they gave him when he got the part was "The Killing Joke" That`s the Joker I want to see. He`s maniacal, yet speaks with an intelligence that makes him much more than just the average nut.

Even though it is Alfred's line, but the part about how some men cannot be bullied and bought that sold me on Ledger. I could be biased though, loved Batman since I was 5 and love Nolan's work since, well The Following (1st film).
I heard they also had Ledger read “A Clockwork Orange” a few times and asked Bale to talk to him about when he did Patrick Bateman (cannot remember where I read that though)… so I think Ledger will be the one to finally put Nicholson's pathetic Joker finally to rest.

Michael Caine is just a classy guy and a great actor. I doubt he'd say anything negative about Heath even if his Joker was horrible, but this movie is going to knock your aunt Commie's socks off! next year is going to be a great year for super hero movies.

This movie is going to be utterly insane. I knew bout the whole Joker " Killing Joke" Thing and im so happy they are finally taking the Joker in that direction.

All other bullshit appearances of him in the movies where just wrong.

He's a psychotic nut/homicidal/rapist/maniac.
Heath's voice in that Trailer is beyond insane and i freakin can't wait for this movie. Batman is reborn with Nolan and so will the Rogue Gallery of Criminals ! Plus i hear Cillain Murphy may be back as Scarecrow just so he can get round up and put into Arkham. That would rock !

The Dark Knight is going to be the best comic film of all time!!!!!!!!!!! Ledger's voice and laugh are awesome, it has a great cast, great villain,story and director. I'm biased but I don't care. Can't wait for 08!!!!!!!!!!

I think Ledger is a fine actor, but it's not like Cain is going to say "Ledger was just ok."
He's selling the movie. They all do it.

I thyink Ledger will do an AWESOME joker.
BUT I'm sick of people bashing Nicholsons performance.
Burtons Batman was Fantastic (the first one) and Jack's Joker was spot on.
Justt as Different writers write a comic character differently different actors portray them differently. For example, I think one of the most true versions of Joker is Batman TAS. This is a great joker yet he is nothing like Ledgers, or Nicholsons. HELL some could argue that Sid Caesar's Joker was the perfect joker.
