I love the Halloween movies; even the last few crappy ones (although I may be one of the few that like Resurrection).

The 25 YEARS disc sounds like they're selling an advance copy of a bonus disc for a planned HALLOWEEN box set.

HALLOWEEN is my favorite horror series, the only one I didn't like was 6. I've already got limited edition metal case sets of both 4 and 5, but if there's new stuff on these releases I might hafta check them out. My question is where's the damn special edition of 2?!? I always really liked that one as an extension of 1, and we've had multiple releases of that one on DVD, so where's 2 damnit?!?!? Freddy and Jason already have box sets, why not Michael?

I suspect the lack of a box set probably relates to the differing lineage of the storyline in the sequels. Halloween is my favorite movie of all time, but my fingers are crossed that the next movie tries to reestablish the greatness of the original and shed some of the muck created by recent sequels (although I do prefer them to no sequels). I would actually prefer they follow the storyline set by parts 4,5 & 6. I routinely watch 1,2,4,5,6 and then 1,2,H2O, ressurection, and I can't help but enjoy 4,5,6 more. Either way or even a prequel would be ok, I just hope they lose the hip hop, half serious style and get to the more serious, suspenseful style of the original. That said, I already have three versions of the original, it would be nice to see a have-all/end-all version, lol.

just found this:

June 1: Rob Zombie to tackle HALLOWEEN?

Around Hollywood, one dark topic has been spoken about in whispers: Who’s directing HALLOWEEN 9? It’s a mystery that’s confounding message board users and Michael Myers fans across the web—not to mention a secret that the execs at Dimension Films have been protecting as if their lives depended on it. This writer is amazed that the following hasn’t been leaked already…

Remember a few months back—around the time THE DEVIL’S REJECTS made its DVD debut—when writer/director Rob Zombie (pictured on the REJECTS set) teased us with how his next project was going to be “big”? One could presume he was speaking of a silver-screen adaptation of the IDW comic book BIGFOOT he created with Steve Niles, a project currently set up at Rogue Pictures. But Fango has learned from many sources around town that Zombie has, in fact, been in talks with Dimension about helming HALLOWEEN 9! We’ve attempted to confirm this, but no one is talking. Furthermore, it’s uncertain as to whether he’s aiming to do the oft-rumored “lost years” prequel or an original chapter of his own. We can assure you, however, that the buzz concerning Zombie’s flirtation with the white-masked one has grown progressively louder.

If this is indeed confirmed, remember where you heard it first. If it’s a whole lotta bunk, chalk it up as one more HALLOWEEN sequel rumor to throw on the ever-growing pile!

People love Halloween 4 and 5, and I can't understand why. $ is ok, but 5 out and out sucks, and 6 is even worse. In my mind Halloween is a trilogy. Halloween, Halloween II, and H20. Those three films tell a complete story. A story of a woman who has a traumatic experience one Halloween that haunts her her enitre life, and how 20 years later she finally stops running and faces her demons. The ending of H20 is perfect, and should have been the end of the Halloween series for good but that crapfest Ressurection had to "undo" H20's perfect ending. I almost wish Halloween 3,4,5,6, and Ressurection would just disappear and leave Halloween as a smart and very well done trilogy.

Sorry Killerville, it was on fangoria.com, but that is the whole article. Tell Pete I'm sorry too, lol.

And narpin, I don't think it is the actual movies that people prefer so much as the where the storyline could lead IF done well. I do like the 1,2,H2O trilogy concept and I also wish Ress would vanish from Earth, but I think that alot of people love Halloween series and would like to see the evolution of the 4,5,6 storyline as opposed to Ressurection being continued. I remember when I found out 4 was coming, I swear it had to be one of the most anticipated movies for me. Don't talk about 3 with these others, it is Halloween in name only and is a decent stand alone movie that was made to exploit the name and start an annual series of Halloween films. I wonder if there was ever any intent to eventually loop around and connect it to MM??????????????????????????????????????????

HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!
Im cool, but, pete is pissed, pissed, pissed!
That was funny, though.
This is cool news. Horror is far and away my favorite genre, and I think Rob is AWESOME based on what weve seen so far. I think 4,5,& 6 got convoluted, but I still love the franchise. There was that Fri 13/ Tarantino rumor a few weeks back, and this is even cooler! I hope this pans out.
