Welcome to the Countdown where the cup is at 50% of its capacity, and where we want another drink from it. This week seems to be fairly lacking considering the time of the year and with how many consoles are on the market. I would honestly like to see twenty games released, but even then it would be a bit of a stretch. I wonder if that were to happen, with being overwhelmed with games, would it lead to a videogame market crash if the sales numbers remained the same. Chances are it would, so to help push along the creation of a few more games, buy everyone you see. Speaking about games you can buy...

Rogue Galaxy (PS2) - Do you like pirates and exploration? You will get a taste of that when you play this game. Playing as Jaster you will race to a legendary planet and unlock great treasures. Eventually you can explore the galaxy and face unlimited battles. Finally you can be a space Jack Sparrow.

Real World Golf 2 (PS2) - Following up to their game on the PS2 from last year, Madcats released one with all new courses. The most interesting thing about the game is that you will swing an actual club to play. For those that like golfing games, and do not have a Wii, you should be very interested in this game during the winter. During the summer, perhaps try out the real thing if the course fees are within your price range. If not... This may be your best friend.

Battlestations: Midway (X-Box 360 - PC) – In this all out war game, you will have the ability to take the massive fleets to the air, sea, or even under the sea. I cannot promise that you can play in an octopuses garden. With planes, boats and subs, there is plenty of action to keep you busy for hours.

Fuzion Frenzy 2 (X-Box 360) - If you are into a Mario Party for the X-Box 360, you will need not look any further than this game. Even the original was addicting, and while this game has less mini-games than the original, it has included online action. Now you can play with your friends when they are not even at your house. While there were many fun games this week, just the allure of the original has me give this game the award of... Game of the Week.

Sonic the Hedgehog (PS3) - Are you ready to play the latest Sonic the Hedgehog game? Finally after what seems like forever, you can get the latest game on the PS3 verses the X-Box 360. The beautiful thing about the game is that it feels like you are going faster than ever before, though at times it has been fairly slow. Perhaps they will find that speed will appear to be quicker if they move the boundaries of the world closer.

Vanguard: Saga of Heroes (PC) - Do you like MMORPG games? Well... Here is your chance to hop in there and take control. The latest game from the Sony Online Entertainment team has you in a world of magic, intrigue and adventure. All you need to do is show up and play. Of course with all MMORPGs, other than Guild Wars, there is a monthly fee.

Monopoly Here and Now (PC) - Luckily for those that either have never played Monopoly in real life, or have yet to taste it online, now you can. The interesting part about it is that you can play it on many different board types, so there is considerable replay value if you like playing in alternative worlds. I am still waiting for my Monopoly: Reboot edition.

All in all, this week was pretty good for games. There were plenty to choose from, if one currently does not own your heart. Oddly enough I have recently become drawn back to Dead Rising, since I still retain a morbid zombie-killing urge. Slowly we are getting out of the early year rut, in the form of debt and videogames, so hopefully soon we see a few more quality games released. In the end, this is Captain Gordon signing off.
