At its press conference today, Microsoft officially unveiled its online service, XBOX LIVE, and announced several new games for its console.
XBOX LIVE will debut this fall and Microsoft is offering an introductory price of $49.95, that deal includes a one-year subscription and the voice headset for the Xbox.
Several launch games will be ready for the release of XBOX LIVE, including UNREAL CHAMPIONSHIP, NFL FEVER 2003 and PHANTASY STAR ONLINE II.
Microsoft also announced several new exclusive Xbox titles. The first and easily the most important being the massively multiplayer online role-playing game, STAR WARS GALAXIES. Other big games shown included KNIGHTS OF THE OLD REPUBLIC, NINJA GAIDEN, PANZER DRAGOON ORTA, CRAZY TAXI 3, TOE JAM AND EARL, CRIMSON SKIES, and MECHASSAULT. It was also said that many of Microsoft's sequels (including the next version of HALO) will feature online play.
We'll give you more details on Microsoft's game lineup after we check it out first-hand on the showfloor later this week.
