Warner Bros. Pictures is fast-tracking a feature film based on Sony Playstation 3's Heavy Rain, with Variety reporting the studio has hired writer David Milch to adapt the story into screenplay form. TV viewers will remember Milch from his days as showrunner and top writer for shows like "NYPD Blue" and "Deadwood". The trade says that Warner Bros. will wait until Milch wraps up his work on HBO's "Luck" and that New Line's former chiefs Bob Shaye and Michael Lynne will produce via their new production company Unique Features.

Plot Concept: Spanning four days of mystery and suspense, the hunt is on for a murderer known only as the Origami Killer - named after his macabre calling card of leaving behind folded paper shapes at crime scenes. Four characters, each following their own leads and with their own motives, must take part in a desperate attempt to prevent the killer from claiming a new victim.

Is this anything like Chubby Rain?

IF one has NEVER played the game then this would be really cool to watch providing it is well made.

i'm intrigued by this.

I enjoyed the game, hopefully they can pull this one off.

aegrant 1/27/2011 7:22:39 AM

didn't really get into the game so i don't see me getting into the movie either

For those that have played the game through, it'll be sad since we know the ending...  Unless they change it up somehow.  It's a good story all the way through, but the "twist" is what makes it.

And now that we know there's a twist ending, we'll all spend the whole movie expecting it.  Thanks.

I'd never heard of the game, so the premise sounds interesting.

SpiderHero, that was my first thought - Hah... I love a good Bowfinger quote!

"This was no ordinary rain... it was CHUBBY RAIN!"

These video game adaptations concern me. They take away from the quality of the game.
