While creator-producer David Milch didn't enjoy success for his last HBO series "John From Cincinnati", the producer received critical success for his series "NYPD Blue" and a fan following for "Deadwood". The latest news from Variety confirms Milch heading back to his roots with a new cop drama pilot for HBO.
Plot Concept: "Last of the Ninth," a cop drama set in Gotham circa 1972, revolves around a younger detective just back from the Vietnam War and his mentor relationship with an older detective; the younger detective goes undercover. Milch is executive producing with his longtime collaborator and former police gumshoe Bill Clark.
