By Robert T. Trate     March 07, 2013

The Sequel to Robert Rodriguez's Machete has just released an eye catching poster. Check out this character poster of Sofia Vergara for Machete Kills

Official Press Release: Open Road Films will release MACHETE KILLS – directed by Robert Rodriguez (Machete, Sin City, Spy Kids franchise) and starring Danny Trejo, Michelle Rodriguez, Sofia Vergara, Amber Heard, Charlie Sheen, Lady Gaga, Antonio Banderas, Jessica Alba, Demián Bichir, Alexa Vega, Vanessa Hudgens, Cuba Gooding, Jr., William Sadler, Marko Zaror and Mel Gibson – on September 13, 2013.

Directed by Robert Rodriguez from a screenplay by Kyle Ward and based on a story by Marcel Rodriguez and Robert Rodríguez, MACHETE KILLS is the sequel to the 2010 hit film MACHETE - which has built a devoted legion of fans since its release – and is the second film in a trilogy.  The film is produced by Robert Rodriguez, along with Aaron Kaufman and Iliana Nikolic through their QuickDraw Productions banner, as well as Sergei Bespalov of Aldamisa Films, Alexander Rodnyansky of AR Films, and Rick Schwartz of Overnight Films.

In MACHETE KILLS, Danny Trejo returns as ex-Federale agent MACHETE, who is recruited by the President of the United States for a mission which would be impossible for any mortal man – he must take down a madman revolutionary and an eccentric billionaire arms dealer who has hatched a plan to spread war and anarchy across the planet.

Machete Kills features Michelle Rodriguez, Sofia Vergara, Amber Heard, Charlie Sheen, Lady Gaga, Antonio Banderas, Jessica Alba, Demian Bichir, Alex Vega, Vanessa Hudgens, Cuba Gooding Jr., William Sadler, Marko Zaror, and of course Mel Gibson.

MACHETE KILLS arrives September 13, 2013.

I've seen stupider looking things in my life, but not many.

Would one of them be the Cod Piece gun from Dusk till Dawn?

Are the Austin Powers fembots making an appearance?

The cartridges that are flying out are visibly larger than the barrels on the miniguns.
What is they always say about if you can't blind them with brilliance, baffle them with bullshit? Looks pretty baffling, but a lot of cheesy fun, too.

wooooow' i'm starting to think all the years of medical experiments they did on Robert R. finaly cought up.. this is so so sad and so so stupid looking. just idiotic . then again it's Machete Kills again!? because the first one was so damn good that a 2nd one needed to be made..

I agree.  But one of those things that comes to mind... Batnipples

What's everybody being so overly critical about? You know the type of over-the-top films he does like Planet Terror with machine guns mounted on beautiful woman's leg stumps. You also see a similar style in the Sin City movies. This is just what he does. You don't have to like his style but it shouldn't be a surprise. I'd have been suprised if this movie and its poster were soft and subtle.

 Why Robert??..... Just why??

spiderhero 3/7/2013 1:01:38 PM

Gaaaah! Batnipples!!! Pain, Pain in my head...right behind my eyes...

freestrike 3/7/2013 1:39:41 PM

Didn't he try a similar gimmick with Rose McGowan in Grindhouse?  That was a real rip roaring success, wasn't it?
