New Star Trek Into Darkness Character Posters

Sulu and McCoy

By Robert T. Trate     April 26, 2013

It is a day of posters here at Mania. Check out these two new character posters of for Sulu (John Cho) and Bones (Karl Urban) from Star Trek Into Darkness. Cho had very little screen time in the last one, hopefully there will be more of Sulu in the film. As for Karl Urban, well I don’t think anyone could have been cast better has Leonard “Bones” McCoy.

Synopsis: In Summer 2013, pioneering director J.J. Abrams will deliver an explosive action thriller that takes Star Trek Into Darkness. When the crew of the Enterprise is called back home, they find an unstoppable force of terror from within their own organization has detonated the fleet and everything it stands for, leaving our world in a state of crisis. With a personal score to settle, Captain Kirk leads a manhunt to a war-zone world to capture a one man weapon of mass destruction. As our heroes are propelled into an epic chess game of life and death, love will be challenged, friendships will be torn apart, and sacrifices must be made for the only family Kirk has left: his crew.

Star Trek Into Darkness stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, John Cho, Bruce Greenwood, Simon Pegg, Anton Yelchin, Benedict Cumberbatch, Alice Eve and Peter Weller.

Star Trek Into Darkness arrives on May 17th, 2013.

Karl Urban was a great part of this cast. He took the character to a new and different level. That might be my favorite part of the film.

That Karl Urban poster looked like Rick Schroeder at first.

I like Sulu's near-classic uniform and I wish Bones had his on for the poster. Personally, I hope we see the cast in the near-classic uniforms for most of the movie instead of the other ones. I think the classic uniforms look better with the brighter colors.

And I don't understand why Hollywood seems to be making traditional colors darker and duller. Superman's uniform in "Man of Steel" and the Falcon's outfit in the new Captain America movie come to mind.
