Michael Moore is already contemplating his next film, a critical examination of America's health care system titled SICKO. According to Variety, Moore and Miramax are hammering out a deal for the financing and distribution of the movie. As you may recall, Miramax's parent company, Walt Disney Pictures, put its plans to distribute Moore's FAHRENHEIT 9/11 on hold, forcing Miramax top execs Harvey and Bob Weinstein to buy back the film's rights and then create a new company to release the film. Since its release last summer FAHRENHEIT 9/11 has grossed more than $100 million domestically at the box office. The film also won this year's Palm d'Or price at the Cannes Film Festival and will be considered for the Best Picture category for the 2004 Oscar competition.
Moore doesn't have plans to start shooting material for SICKO until next year.
