HITCHHIKERS GUIDE Continues Without Douglas Adams - Sep 20, 2008 - 08:07pm
the original bbc radio series weren't solely the creation of adams. with that many people involved, it's assured someone other than adams gave insight to how the story, and not just characters, settings and jokes, should evolve.
jane belson is is adams' widow who gave her blessing to the project.
i say let the man write his book and critique it after it's done. he's got enough pressure.

it's a little too early to dump on the project. many series of books (and other media) have excelled past their creators' original visions. star wars is a good example. some of the stories in the books, comics and games i would consider better than the prequels. the dune books written by brian herbert give a wonderful depth and background to the dune universe. many would also agree they are superior to frank herbert's final books.
i for one am very interested in reading his continuations. since we never really find out what happened to zaphod and the ending of "mostly harmless" was ambiguous at best, i'd like to see what's happened to our snarky heroes. i just wish someone besides adams knew how "salmon of doubt" was supposed to end!
New SW: CLONE WARS Pics Online - Apr 22, 2008 - 09:53am
it wouldn't be new star wars unless we all wanted to be critical of it. it kind of looks like their hair is made of wood. still, looking forward to both new tv shows.
