Matthew Vaughn for Star Wars: Episode VII? (Article) - 11/8/2012 1:38:30 AM

Top 5 directors for directing SW as I would interview these guys in this order, the order being the last choice to first choice...

#5 Del Toro would be my fifth choice only because he works on his own stories and projects and would have to be persuaded to do it, someone that loves working on their stuff as much as Mr Toro does would have to be persuaded to come and make these and then some love is lost with the taking care of the material and story since it's not his ideas or themes but if persuaded to do it he would be perfect with the skill sets he has in special effects, could really bring a good balance to the movies with his knowledge and artistic writing skills, making for not only a visually exciting movie but more importantly a well told story...

#4 I would go with Kevin Smith, he is by far one of the biggest geeks out there in movie making land next to Del Toro and he would bring artistic dialog to a movie or movies that should in all likely hood be geared towards us adults now, it is a Dark Story of Evil running rampant and the few good trying to stop it so let's get a director that will cater to us older people, a director that can give us the dark and ominous type of movie we all wanted when Phantom Menace came out but we all decided to love the Matrix instead cause that was what we were suppose to have with SW but never got it...Kevin Smith does not have the apptitude that allot of directors have when dealing with special affects driven movies but that's nothing that can't be cured with a good crew working for you that actually do know what they are doing, just check out the matrix, the Watchowski's had no idea how to develop the special effects in the Matrix, they just knew what they wanted and the special effects supervisor made it possible for them...Kevin Smith, laugh if you want but he can do this...

#3 Joseph Kosinski...The guy that made the last Tron Movie has the chops to make a visually stunning movie and at the same time prove to be a much better writer than Lucas, that part does not seem to be hard to do if you can write for humans that are not in the age range of 5 to 10 years of age, ya the Tron Director would be good...

#2 my second choice would be the director that made that animated movie called 9, Shane Acker...This was one of the first animated movies geared towards adults and for good reason he likes his stories dark, this director/writer knows how to write for adults cause he writes for himself, and what he likes and invisions for the projects he works on benefits us all that like to dwell in a good story that is dark in nature, something that we adults can relate to, something that reflects our times, we don't need  a dark story candy coated by a director in order to sale toys and this director would not sacrifice his theory and philosophy in story telling in order to do so...If you have not watched the movie 9 you should, I think you might agree that this man can do the job right...it also helped that he had Tim Burton and Timur Bekmambetov as producers on 9 although I am one of those people that feel TIm Burton needs to stay in the dog house until he get's out of his repetative funk and stops using all the same actors and the same themes in every single piece of work he has done, it's old already Mr Burton try something fresh plz although Timur would make a great producer for these movies, of course  his involvement or any other producers involvment is not of importance right now but finding a direcor is...

#1 My number one choice would be the guy that made District 9...He has a visual style that would do well with the SW universe and once again and I know I am repeating myself but he is a good writer and when it's all said and done a good writer/director who knows how to get the best performance out of his actors is what SW needs right now, some good wrting to help us all forget about the terrible dialog that Lucas made us sit through with the last three movies he made would be an awesome thing to witness then I don't have to feel as though I lose IQ everytime I watch a Lucas made movie...

These guys would be my picks and I know there are allot of guys out there that some of you would like to see do this but the good directors seem to be far to involved in working on their own stuff, I don't think their egos will allow them to do anything other than work on stuff they have developed and created so we are looking for mid level ter guys or guys that are up and coming, don't expect Ridley Scott or James Cameron do want to do this, won't happen, You can't blame these high level directors, who wants to work on something that was not created by them in an industry that asks people of the business to CREATE and Develop new and exciting ideas? I would not want to do that but would do it if it meant bringing my work to a larger stage with the possibilty of getting more work for a up and coming director trying to gain leverage with the studios and of course to get that 7 movie deal contract that will help them bring in that pay check to pay for all those late night coke and whore parties, at least this is what I heard happens when Terrintino goes to Las Vegas to write, he seems to have work and fun all rolled into one package, damn I wish I had half his writing talent, his life sounds fun LOL

Rambling session done for now, will ramble again soon so that way you all can ask yourselfs, what the hell is that guy talking about ;)

Mania Interview: Steven Spielberg (Article) - 11/8/2012 12:01:00 AM

Wise, where do you hold mass brother, so I can come and pay my respect to the master of cinema with you? A religion that Al Sharpton would even sign off on lol I'm thinking or maybe not, anyways...

I don't know why I am surprised by the interviews you guys have had here lately, would expect that from cinescape but not mania, very cool to say the least though...

I am a bit surprised though that Spielberg sat down with you guys then again I should not be, you guys use to interview everyone under the sun that had anything to do with movies, Sci Fi and Fantasy to be specific but this is very cool indeed and loved the questions you asked him...

It's a good thing Daniel Day Lewis decided to do this cause the only person I know that can make a movie of this certain nature and topic and have it be done in a way that treats the material and story with a certain amount of respect and love for the main character can only come from Spielberg and if his thought was not to make it if Mr Lewis dicided not to do it, would have been tragic and even more tragic had some other director dicided to make it themselves, as it turns out we get a Mr Lewis and Mr Spielberg movie, go figure ha, one of the greatest directors of our time and one of the greatest actors if not the greatest actor of all time making a movie together and I can't think of a better project for them both to work on...

Great Interview Rob, keep em coming

Would like to see an in depth interview with Ridley Scott if you get the chance, that would be awesome to say the least....

Woodley for Spider-Man 2 (Article) - 10/11/2012 1:03:12 AM

Actually I will concede to some of you that this last Spidey was not that great of story, I believe that to be true only because there were times the story just slowed down way to much for allot of un-necessary sub plots, dialog that served no real purpose to driving the story forward and a few other things but over all, I thought it was a good start to this new franchise but that's because I have decided to not let Raimi's well done, no awesome job on his origin story over shadow this one, damn how can you even hope to come close to Raimi's version, that is a mountain of expectation far to high to climb for any director if you ask me...

In closing, this new Spidey was not terrible unless you are one of those guys who knows everything about the Amazing Spider Man and has to nit pick about every small detail that was either left out or made up just for movie making sake, or your one of those guys who has to point out that the movie could have been edited a little bit better, making for more action and less borring parts and shit, you may be right about that but I myself liked it and I'm confidant that the next one will be even better, of course it all comes down to a matter of opinion and we all have our opinions so go ahead protest yours as to just how wrong I am, you won't hurt my feelings lol

Woodley for Spider-Man 2 (Article) - 10/11/2012 12:40:47 AM

Listen, we can all except the fact and have to that both Tobey and Dumbst were not really right for the Raimi's spidey franchise, especially Tobey, he did well in costumeto a certain degree but everytime out of costume I just cringed, now dumbst on the other hand was just plain terrible, she did not capture Mary Janes essence in no way, shape or form and I almost have to plain Raimi for that, he is the director after all, I almost have to believe that Raimi was forced by the produces to have to choose both those actors...Don't get me wrong, I loved Raimi's spider man, well at least the first two, we all know what happend with Raimi having no real choices of his own to contribute in the third one but show up and direct it, so the story goes...

Ok, now we have the new Spider man and I for one liked it, I thought all the actors were excellent especially  Garfield and his essence and acting choices he brought to the spidey/Parker role, he fit the bill to the tee not only in acting but in looks and that was an important casting choice since they were making the Amazing Spider man... screw it make this short, all the casting choices I thought were great in this new one and for those who are now complaining that the actress who is playing Mary Jane now is not a red head, who to say they don't plan on coloring her hair? I think she would look rocken in red hair and even if they don't plan on coloring her hair so be it, just as long as she does a better job than dumbst...

Oh ya, one more thing...If all you comic book geeks wanted the director, producers and the studio heads to make these movies just like they are in the comics, we would get cheesy dialog and a story that does not fit well into moving pictures...That's my story and I'm sticking to it, End of Rambling...Thank You

Lincoln Unite Trailer (Article) - 10/8/2012 7:37:26 PM

Holy Shit, Daniel Day Lewis and Spielberg together with a great story, I agree with Aegrant, that trailer alone is well worth 8 dollars just by itself...

Prometheus Easter Egg (Article) - 10/8/2012 7:23:05 PM

I would like for those who did not like the movie to explain the plot holes plz...I have loved Alien since it first came out and then I loved Aliens since then as well...I know a huge plot hole when I see one, it smacks you in the face and since I know the back stories to Aliens I did not get smacked in the face when watching this movie but if you guys are complaining about plot holes, they must be very minor ones? Not only that the guys that did not like it seem to be all over the board as to why they did not like it, some thought the acting was terrible when others who did not like it as well thought the acting was good...

This is what I think happend to those that did not like it...They grew up with the Alien franchise and when they heard that Ridley was going back to the Alien Universe the expectations were so huge, that no matter how well Ridley did, it was bound to fail for them...We older people who loved movies when we were younger seem to find movies to be not so special as they were when we were kids, I think you can find that to be true with any generation...I think the worst thing to happen to movies was CGI and it all began with Indepence Day...Most these movie studios feel for some reason that all we want is a good CGI movie with no real good story or plot for that matter and it has become very sad, Ridley used cgi and other special effects to enhance his stories not make them the reason to put asses in the theater seats and he always will...I thought the movie was excellent but that is because I decided to be a kid again when I went to go and watch it...

Prometheus Easter Egg (Article) - 10/8/2012 6:53:33 PM

I also have tried to post many times here at what use to be a good site but they just keep getting dropped as well and I don't use any harsh language at least not all of the time, it has become very annoying which is why I tend to go to other sites now...Not only that but why the hell out of the hundred plus site I go too does this one take forever to load, not only when I come to the site but when I go from one page to the other within the site? These were not issues when it was Cinescape...I better do a control C just incase this does not post lol...
