Free 3-D Software
(Sat 03/08/2008 04:08pm)

If you are interested in working with 3-D software here is a free program called Daz 3-D and you can get another one made by the same company called Bryce and I believe the only version of bryce that is free is the 5.5 version...Both are really cool programs...Check it out and when you download and then set it up it will ask you for a serial number which you will then have to go too the site and get it, very easy stuff...You might have to set an account first but that takes like 2 or 3 minutes...If you are asked who told you about this free software tell them Michael Laforce sent you...Have fun and good rendering...
Oh, by the way here is where you can download...http://www.daz3d.com/i.x/software/studio/-/download?&_m=d

Actually it's a stand alone and yes it can be used for animation and 2-D art...Now you can't create 3-D models within this program, you have to buy models and that is the catch, the software is free but the models you pay for, now if you know how to create models in software like Maya or Lightwave then you can do that and not pay for your models period but there are so many great artist out there creating models and selling them that naturally at the prices they are selling them at makes you soft and you buy what ever catches your eye or whatever theme you are working with at the time...The library of models is so huge from characters to clothing to themes like sci fi, western, fantasy, morphs to change the look of your characters, there is so much it's ridiculous lol...You can use daz in conjunction with bryce, Poser and a few others...It is certainly not the high end professional software in 3-D and that is another reason it is free but it is good none the less and has a huge community of artist working with it, so check it out and tell me what you think...
Oh by the way it come bundled with a nice amount of models to begin with so that way you just don't start off with nothing...
